I still wish.....

As I woke up this morning and saw a decent pile of beautiful snow covering the ground a part of me thought for a moment.....I wonder if work will be cancelled?!?! Of course I knew it wouldn't, but I don't think I will ever stop wishing for work to be closed or delayed on account of the snow. Remembering that feeling we got when we were kids and our parents came in and said....sleep in, you don't have to go to school today - a part of me will always hope for that on days like today.

Instead, reality sets in and I have to go outside and clean off my car, drive the 20 some miles to work on a slushy highway, deal with the bad drivers and slushy snow hindering my vision, salt and snow on my pants, and the wish of how much on a day like today I would rather be at home curled up under a blanket watching a movie with my cats then be at work.

So now I will just look out my window at the snow as it continues to cover the ground and trees and keep wishing for that day when I too will once again have MY snow day!

P.S. the snow does look very beautiful outside my window!

Duck Tape - STAT!

So I found this article on MSN.

Refrigerator duck plays Lazarus again
Bird that lived 2 days in fridge after being shot flat-lines in surgery, revives

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Call her Lazarus — and then some.

The ring-neck duck has been shot by a hunter, rescued from two days in a refrigerator by his wife and — in its latest brush with death — resuscitated on a veterinarian's operating table.

The one-pound female duck stopped breathing Saturday during an operation to repair gunshot damage to her wing, said Noni Beck of Goose Creek Wildlife Sanctuary. Veterinarian David Hale performed CPR and managed to get the fractured fowl breathing again after several tense moments.

I started crying, 'She's alive!'" Beck said.

Perky grabbed national attention last week after a hunter's wife opened her refrigerator door and the supposedly dead duck lifted its head and looked at her. The duck had been in the fridge for two days since it was shot and mistaken for dead on Jan. 15.

Perky, who now has a pin in hers wing, will probably not undergo any more surgery because of a sensitivity to anesthesia, Hale said. The duck is recovering from its latest ordeal.

.........
My favorite part is that the Dr. gave the duck CPR - HAHAHA! GROSS! Oh and how freaky to have a duck in your refrigerator look at you...ew!!!!

Good Movie!

Last night T & I rented the Illusionist with Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti, and Jessica Biel. It was a really good movie! Even though I had an idea of what would happen towards the beginning of the movie and figured it out by the middle...it was very interesting and very well acted! Even Jessica Biel was pretty good! Even though this is probably classified as a romantic movie it didn't feel like one because it made you think and was just overall very entertaining! T. liked it alot!! I totally recommend it!

P.S. I forgot how hot Edward Norton was (even with his beard thing). He is totally on my list - so cute!

Why Haven't You Replied???

(Just venting.......)

I get SO very frustrated when I email people (at work) and they DO NOT REPLY in a timely manor to the question/s I ask!! I see that you opened it folks...now answer my question! If you need time to figure out the answer then instead of simply ignoring me for a week how about you email me and say "I need more time to find out this answer. I will get back to you next week." As simple as that folks! Why do people here feel that they are too good/important to respond to emails? It is seriously annoying and honestly disrespectful. UGH!

A Little Taste of Heaven (individually wrapped!)

This weekend T. was in the mood for Suzy Q's (his favorite snack cake of all-time) so as we were walking down the aisle I took notice of my favorite dessert type snack food - Little Debbie, Oatmeal Creme Pies! YUM!!! (side note: it is probably the only food with the word pie in it that I DO enjoy) It had been way too long since I have had one of these...at least a year! So I picked up a box and couldn't wait to tear into them when I got home! And my friends, they were just as good as I remembered! I do recall why I stopped buying these because they are so good you just want more. mmmmmm

T. is defiantly a Hostess man (actually he will eat anything) while I prefer Little Debbie. Another yummy treat, although nothing is better than the oatmeal creme pies, are the Strawberry Shortcake Rolls! YUM

So it got me thinking, are you a Little Debbie person or a Hostess person and what are your favorite sweet treats?

Can't remember all the products?? Click here for the Little Debbie site & here for the Hostess site.

Please Be Prepared!

So my mom just told me about a very sad and tragic accident that happened in our home town. A 16 year old girl and her 80+ year old grandmother drowned in a car after a car accident this weekend in the river. My mom told me that people were trying to help them but couldn’t get to them and they could see the two pounding on the window but couldn’t get out. What a horrible horrible accident. It only takes a few minutes for a car to be completely submerged under water and unfortunately these two people didn’t make it.

The reason I am telling you this is because my mom told me to go get one of those lifehammers and keep it in my car. A lifehammer is a tool that you could keep in your glove box that has a hammer on one end that will easily break a window, a knife to cut a stuck seat belt and a little flashlight to help you see. I am going tonight and getting one for each car!

I use to think I had everything. My husband works at an auto parts store and always put a lot of “emergency” car items in my trunk. But as much as those items could help me if I am stranded or get in an accident and need first aid none of them will save my life like this one tool will. We all need to be prepared for the worst, so please (if you don’t have one already) go get one. It is less than $20 and it may save your life or someone else’s!

And incase you do not have a car emergency kit I highly suggest picking up one of those too. You can buy one that already contains everything you need. In case you want to be extra prepared here are some items suggested in a car kit. (*these ones are most important)

Car Emergency Kit:
Lifehammer*** (in glove box)
Jumper Cables*
Road Flares*
Quarts of Oil
Antifreeze
Washer Fluid
First Aid Kit*
Blanket (or in kits they have the folded up solar blankets that take up NO space at all)*
Extra Fuses
Flashlight w/ extra batteries*
Small case of tools*
Tire pressure gage & pump
Rags/paper towels*
Duct Tape*
Pocket Knife*
Pen & Paper*
Wet naps
Matches in water proof container
Portable radio

If you travel with kids and pets regularly:
Formula/diapers
Pet food
Games
Extra clothes
Snacks

Slightly Unusual Items:
Whistle
Beef Jerky & Granola Bars (they last a long time)
Bottled Water
Pads & tampons (Not for what you think. Pads actually can be used to stop bleeding to an injury and tampons can be used for bloody noses or slightly larger wounds. Seriously, they actually had them in their first aid kits in my athletic training classes!!!)
Maps
Survival book

Only in Amsterdam!!!!

Article from MSN:
AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - After a long day hunting, there's nothing like wrapping your paw around a cold bottle of beer. So Terrie Berenden, a pet shop owner in the southern Dutch town of Zelhem, created a beer for her Weimaraners made from beef extract and malt.

"Once a year we go to Austria to hunt with our dogs, and at the end of the day we sit on the verandah and drink a beer. So we thought, my dog also has earned it," she said.
Berenden consigned a local brewery to make and bottle the nonalcoholic beer, branded as Kwispelbier. It was introduced to the market last week and advertised it as "a beer for your best friend."

"Kwispel" is the Dutch word for wagging a tail. The beer is fit for human consumption, Berenden said. But at $2 a bottle, it's about four times more expensive than a Heineken.
......

Hehe! Dogs in Amsterdam have the good life!! It would be funnier if they could teach the dog to drink straight from the bottle!! :-)

I LOVE BMG Music!

So I am sure not everyone likes BMG....but I do! (Side Note: I know this is big business but I do buy all my new releases and do plenty of CD shopping at our local CD store) I have been a member since 1999! BMG has changed alot since then and now they actually have new releases "Premium titles" out that you can buy. (I know that was always one of the biggest complaints about BMG - not having newer stuff.)

The thing I like about BMG is that you can search through tons and tons of music! Sure they may not have alot of abstract stuff, but you can go other places for that! But they do have alot of stuff to choose from in so many genre's, including up and coming artists...which I like! You can also preview the music, which you can't do at stores!!

But the best thing of all are the sweet deals you get from BMG! First, you get points whenever you buy CD's from online. The points add up to free music and currently I am up to 7 free CD's!! Plus, they are always sending me emails for great deals like the one I got today! Buy one CD at regular price (around $18-$19) and get unlimited CD's for $1.99 plus shipping & handling! SWEET!!! So needless to say I took advantage of this awesome deal today! During the move I noticed a couple CD's of mine missing (i most likely let someone borrow a CD and never got is back, and it is hard to keep track of over 400 CD's) so I purchased a couple of those and then some new ones! Here is my deal:

I bought 7 CD's for around $45.00. That is about $6-$7 per CD. I saved $84.40 (AWESOME!!)

These are the CD's I got:
- John Hiatt, Greatest Hits (replacement)
- Black Sabbath, Greatest Hits 1970-1978 (replacement)
- Ozzy Osbourne, Under Cover
- Jonny Lang, Turn Around
- Wolfmother, Wolfmother (T. has it but I want my own copy! PLUS....this one was free with my purchase!)
- Franz Ferdinand, You Could Have it so Much Better
- Ok Go, Oh No

These CD's should be here in about a week b/c BMG is always very quick with their service! It will be nice to come home and get to open 7 "new" CD's...I am very excited!

I am also a member of a DVD club, but I have to admit that I am not as into that. DVD's just don't interest me as much as CD's do!

Making A Statement

Making A Statement!

So I have LOVED the band Green Day for a long long time!!! I mean, who didn't have their CD "Dookie" in your CD player in High School?!?!?! I still have it in mine....it is such a great album!

But besides their great music I like their message and what they have to say (American Idiot cd = awesome)! They have a political message as well as a positive message to teenage kids and I really like that! That is why I was very excited to see Green Day performing with U2 (another great band that has poitically charged music) playing at the Super Dome in New Orleans last year during the half time show! They covered the song "The Saints are Coming" during the show! AWESOME!!! You can just feel the excitment of the crowd and if you watched the game it was very emotionally charged and awesome!! The video in this post is the actual video they made for the song (it is a MUST watch). I just dare you to watch this video and not get emotional. Everytime I watch the video I think of what happened with the hurricane in New Orleans and the lack of help the governement provided. Watching the video you just think "what if"...

You know I am a HUGE fan of music and one of my favorite things is when musicians use the amazing gift they have to make an important statement. Sure, music should be entertaining but I also believe that great musicians can create not only music that is entertaing but also music that has a point, can be emotional, make you think, get you through hard times, has a positive message or makes a political statement. I am not saying every song they write has to make a statement, but you have the freedom of speech and the ultimate means of which to get a somthing out there....why not use it?!?!

Unsupported

So a few months ago I purchased my first Victoria’s Secret bras. See previous post “Locked, Loaded and Looking Fabulous”. I have heard they were amazing and I was in need of more coverage so I purchased 3 bras. Let’s just say I was VERY happy with my purchases. I felt that they did make a difference compared to the Wal-Mart bras I had been purchasing (by the by – nothing horribly wrong with bras purchased from Wal-Mart…I still buy some from there). The big thing was I was really happy to think that these bras would last me a longtime and I justified spending that amount of money on 3 articles of clothing that you will not see and do nothing more than lift and support!

So I took good care of said bras and I have to admit that I looked pretty fabulous in these things. I was up an entire cup size and I had a little more confidence and a bounce in my…lets just say step! So you can understand that I was a little upset when a couple weeks ago one of my bras broke. Yeah, you heard me….my angel bra (I think that’s what it is called) is done. It was a typical day and T & I were out when I noticed something digging into me. I later made it to the restroom and realized the under wire was poking out of the bra and poking into me! UGH! I tried to push it back in, but to no avail….the under wire could not be fixed. So then I thought I would just take the under wire out of the one side and try wearing it like that but the bra was just uncomfortable like that. So then I decided to take out both wires….I don’t need those stupid things anyways, right?!?! WRONG! Apparently this bra looses it’s ability to function properly without it’s under wire b/c while logically I thought it would work; when I actually wore it for a day I was popping out all over the place…grrr. (I have to admit I am still perplexed on why without the stupid underwire these things don't work properly?!?!) So now this cute lavender with lace bra is sitting in my drawer – I haven’t brought myself to throw it away yet. I am still thinking that maybe I can come up with a way to fix it…..which means it will most likely be in my drawer for the next 10 years.

In good news, the other two bra’s seem to be working just fine – However, the one I got is a going out bra because this thing lifts…and then lifts some more and when you think it could do any more it pushes in…it is crazy!!! So I have only worn it a couple times - and so help me it better not break anytime soon! So needless to say I was a little upset. I have heard nothing but great things about VS bras and a mere 3 months later I have a casualty with one of the best boob holders I have ever had. I won’t give up on VS yet, maybe it was just a fluke or something. I may go back in a couple months and try something else….but in the meantime back to the Wal-Mart :(

I hope you feel better M!!

A Trip....We are Finally Taking a Trip?!?!?!

So my Floridia friend is getting married on March 17 in the beautiful state of floridia! Floridia in March - AWESOME!!!

So since T & I never got a honeymoon and the hooneymoon/vacation we were going to take to Ireland this year got pushed back till summer of 2008 (because we bought the house) we thought we would take a couple extra days off and spend some extra time in FL while also going to our friends wedding - YAY!!! We have not been on a trip for a few years when we went to New Orleans with my family and T & I have never really taken a long distance trip together just the two of us - I am super excited!

But here is the thing folks - I am trying to search for flights and good deals and as I do not take too many trips I am a little lost. I have searched some online places but I don't know which ones are good/reliable. Any suggestions on which online travel places I should look for or is it cheaper to book right through the airline (T. prefers Northwest - don't know why) or should I try through AAA? Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

YAY - we are going on a trip/mini honeymoon!!! YIPPIE!

I am convinced......

I am convinced that there is something in Styrofoam cups that gives me a headache when I drink out of them. Every time I drink out of one within an hour I have a headache. Maybe it is just coincidence as I only drink out of them on occasion when there is no bottled water available or I forget my cup (like today). I hope it is just my mind playing tricks on me, but part of me is convinced that there is something in Styrofoam that isn’t good for us!

Boo Styrofoam!

Nearly 27 and Finally Wearing Makeup!

(Pictured above is for blue eyes)

So recently I started to get into eye makeup. I have never been into any kind of makeup at all, it is just something I would put on occasionally, but I always felt more awkward IN the makeup then with no makeup on at all. I normally just stuck to a light powder and chapstick and if I wanted to go out at night I would throw on some mascara. But after the hair cut that left me with much shorter hair than I expected (p.s. I like the hair more now) I decided to start wearing eye makeup in an attempt to feel better and to make my face fit my hair. (it makes sense to me)

I started playing around with different colors I already had but didn’t really like them that much. Normally all I would wear when I did wear eye shadow was some shade of brown. I wanted to try different colors, but didn’t really have a clue what to get. So I went to Target to see what was out there and I found Almay. Now I don’t know anything about whether this is considered a “good” product but what made me pick it is that they sell this new line of products all for the eyes based on your eye color! This should be easy enough for me!! It is called intense i-color. You simply find your eye color and everything you need to play up or intensify your eye color is there! They have the eye shadow, mascara and eye liner specific to your eye color – AWESOME! I have green eyes so I got the intensify eye shadow and mascara for my green eyes. The three-shade eye shadow came in a dark green, light green and purplish color and the mascara was a raisin color. I LOVE IT!!! I never would have thought to wear green eye makeup – but it works and I have a new found excitement for wearing eye makeup! I am still trying to figure out what colors work on me, I am fair skinned with green eyes. I tried this gold stuff and it just looked silly on me - I kind of looked sick, but I am having fun with it!

Overall, I am still not into makeup as a whole…I don’t like foundation, blush or lipstick – but I think that is ok, I will just start with the eye thing for now!

Any other suggestions for eye makeup colors or brands you like?

Almay shade collections are for brown, blue, hazel and green eyes.

Interesting but Tasty!

So this weekend I tasted an interesting drink combination that was surprisingly delicious!

I am not a red wine drinker at all. I like sweeter wines like a Reisling. However, we have tons of red wines that were given to us as gifts and T.'s brother and sister-in-law got us a 6 month membership to a wine of the month club for christmas where we get one red and one white wine a month. So I felt bad for not drinking this wine......until this weekend. Apparently, if you are like me and like something a little sweeter and smoother, you can add either a pepsi or mountain dew to your glass of red wine and it tastes delicious! Seriously, it brought out the flavors of the wine and it tasted SO good! Our friend said his sister actually does the same thing with coors light - adds pepsi or coke to it and it tastes really good. I don't know if I will try that, but this red wine/pop combination is surprisingly delicious and I highly recomend it! How much do you add, I think it is really just a matter of taste. We did about 1/4 glass pop - the rest wine. Has anyone else heard of this before?

YAY - I am so excited I can drink red wine now!

I'll Shout it to the World!

Ok, I'll admit it - I love minivans! Yes, I said it I L.O.V.E. minivans!

I don't have kids or large pets - I just love vans! I have loved them for a long time and I don't care who knows! I would love to get a great conversion van, or a VW van or a new mini van! They are all great!

They have tons of space and sit up high and are just wonderful! I looked at minivans a couple years ago but they are a little more expensive so I got my wonderful Honda Accord instead, but I am beginning to get the minivan itch again! (It would have been very helpful during the move!) I still have two years before I pay off my car so we won't be getting a new car ANY time soon, but I have to say if and when we get a new car a minivan is at the TOP of my list! Who knows what great vans they will have out in a few years - it blows my mind and I am excited!!!

So make fun all you want - I don't care any more, I love my van obsession!

Just Take it....

So today I had to get up at 8am (on my day off) and I am stuck in the house all day while my car gets fixed. What's wrong with it - NOTHING!!!! I am taking my lovely Honda in for it's 100,000 mile "check up". What is that? Well apparently for my car around this point I have to get all my belts replaced, spark plugs, filters and an oil change. It is suggested to get all this done because if your timing belt and stuff would break then basically your engine would be shot and you would be spending ALOT more money to actually fix your car.

So was it the Honda people who told me to do this....no, it was my wonderful husband who works with cars and has seen what happens when people don't do their regular maintenance on their car. Now don't get me wrong, I am VERY happy to have a husband that works on cars and helps me take care of our investment and I am more than happy to take care of our car - but I am going to be honest........this little scheduled maintenance is costing us around $1,000!!! Yep, and that is alot of money to spend when nothing is actually wrong with your car. I am willing to pay for preventive measures - and hopefully this means we are good for another 100,000 miles - it just stings a little bit as I prepare myself for this afternoon to pay this bill.

Ugh - I am going to go throw up now!

You Tasty Evil!

So last night T & I went to the movies and of course had our traditional snack of popcorn. T gets his with butter and salt mine plain. It is such a tasty treat at the movie theater that we enjoy so much during the movie! We try to avoid the popcorn, but it is hard....it is so tempting and so delicious! Yes, popcorn is great........ that is until the movie is over and we are on our way home and then this tasty treat turns evil!

Our lips begin to feel dry and need lots of chap stick, we are so thirsty and all we want to do is drink tons of ice water, we got what we call popcorn belly (where you get little cramps in your belly from the popcorn - creating gastric eruptions), we spend the rest of the evening trying to remove popcorn kernals from our teeth, and overall we just have soar and uncomfortable bellies. Now it isn't like we gorge ourself with popcorn either, but this happens every time we partake in movie theater popcorn - no matter how much or little we eat. And yet, for as uncomfortable as we are the rest of the evening after our popcorn treat we go to bed (after taking a few Tums) very happy! And we know the next time we go to the theater we will once again get our popcorn, knowing the consequences but not caring because we can not watch a movie without this tasty and yet evil snack! It is the ultimate evil temptation...well at least in regads to snacks!

It's Coming for me.....

It's coming and I don't know what I can do to stop it!

I am achy all over, very tired, have the beginnings of a sore throat, my nose is dripping, it hurts in my lungs when I breath, and I am coughing off and on! I am getting a sick :( I thought I was lucky and made it through this last batch of sicknesses going around without getting anything - but it appears I was mistaken.

I think I am going to take Nyquil and go to bed!

2007 Movie Preview

So I found this list on MSN about the top 10 movies being released in 2007 or something like that. Anyways – here is the list of the so-called top movies being released this year and my comments in purple! It really is going to be a great year for movies!!!

10. "Charlie Wilson's War" Mark Your Calendar: Dec. 25 Stars: Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams The Story: Hanks plays Texas Congressman Charlie Wilson, who oversaw covert funding of the Afghan rebels in their battle with the Soviet Union in the 1980s.WK: May watch this b/c of Tom Hanks and Philip Seymour Hoffman, but I will wait till it comes out DVD. This description doesn’t interest me much though.

9. "Sweeney Todd" Mark Your Calendar: December TBDStars: Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Alan RickmanThe Story: Stephen Sondheim's celebrated musical tells the story of the notorious Benjamin Barker, aka Sweeney Todd, who sets up a barbershop in 19th-century London to seek revenge on those who have done him wrong.WK: CAN’T WAIT!!!! The cast sounds awesome (especially my favorite man Johnny) but it just sounds like such a fun movie and TOTALLY a Johnny Depp type role, fun and dark! Boo that we have to wait till December!

8. "Grindhouse" Mark Your Calendar: April 6Stars: Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson, Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez, Danny TrejoThe Story: Directors Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's homage to genre movies features two full-length pictures: the zombie-filled "Planet Terror" and the slasher flick "Death Proof." How much more do you need to know? WK: UM – NO THANKS!!! It just sounds weird!

7. "Transformers"Mark Your Calendar: July 4Stars: Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson The Story: Two alien robotic races — the Autobots and the Decepticons — bring their battle to Earth. Can humanity survive when our fate partially rests in the hands of Shia LaBeouf? WK: HELLZ YEAH!!!! We are VERY excited about seeing this movie and any kid that grew up in the 80’s should be excited too!!!

6. "His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass" Mark Your Calendar: Dec. 7Stars: Nicole Kidman, Dakota Richards, Eva Green, Daniel Craig The Story: A 12-year-old girl starts out trying to save a friend whose been kidnapped by a mysterious organization in an alternate world but ends up on an epic quest to save our own world as well. WK: I don’t think so. I am not a big fan of Nicole Kidman and this just sounds weird.

5. "Shrek the Third" Mark Your Calendar: May 18Stars: Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas, Justin Timberlake The Story: When King Harold suddenly croaks, Shrek and Fiona discover that ruling over a kingdom isn't all it's cracked up to be. If Shrek can find another suitable heir to the throne, he and Fiona can return home to happiness in the swamp. WK: I love the Shrek movies! I think this would be a fun summer movie to go see! (I love Puss….in boots)

4. "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" Mark Your Calendar: May 25Stars: Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Geoffrey Rush, Chow Yun-FatThe Story: When we last saw our fabled crew at the end of "Dead Man's Chest," Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) had been swallowed by the nefarious Kracken, Barbossa (Rush) had surprisingly been resurrected from the dead and Davy Jones' heart was soon to be in the hands of the East India Trading Company. It's no secret Sparrow will survive, but how does a trip to the "literal" end of the world (according to director Gore Verbinski) fit into the mix? WK: Do I even need to answer this one! Seriously folks, I am SO excited about this movie I pee my pants a little when I think about it! Totally counting down the days till the movie…. (and wearing Depends for the next 5 months)!!

3. "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" Mark Your Calendar: July 13Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and almost every British actor alive, although Helena Bonham Carter and Imelda Staunton are new to the fold. The Story: Another year and more angst for our beloved Harry as the wizard world deals with the return of Voldemort. WK: This is another one I can’t wait to see! I LOVE all the movies and I think they keep getting darker and better! I am SO excited! Infact – these movies actually make me read something other than Dr. Suess or US magazine, and that is saying something! Can’t wait!!

2. "Spider-Man 3" Mark Your Calendar: May 4Stars: Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Topher Grace, Thomas Haden Church, Bryce Dallas Howard The Story: Our friendly neighborhood web-slinger battles one of his greatest villains, The Sandman (Church); is tempted by a new flame, Gwen Stacy (Howard); and discovers a new black suit that turns into something much worse — fan-favorite Venom. WK: I LOVE comic book movies/shows! They are just so much fun! This one should be interesting - I have heard bad and good about it. I will still go see it and judge for myself!

1. "The Simpsons Movie" Mark Your Calendar: July 27 Stars: Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Harry Shearer, Hank Azaria, Albert Brooks, Kelsey Grammer, Erin Brockovich-Ellis The Story: It's being kept tightly under wraps, but we're guessing it has something to do with Homer saving his family and his love of donuts. WK: TOTALLY!!! I think it would just be fun to see a cartoon like this on the big screen! I am all for watching this!!

Seriously – all summer my ass will be stuck in the movie theater watching SO MANY great movies! I am starting my summer movie fund now so we can afford it! YES!!!!!!

I have a problem

So this isn't that unusual but I am right here, right now admitting I have a problem. I have problem with shoes. But here is the thing, it isn't JUST that I have SO many pairs of shoes (i think around 50 pairs - please say that isn't alot) but more so the problem is that I buy shoes and hardly ever wear them. I LOVE the shoes I buy - I really do.....but normally I may only wear them a couple times or sometimes not at all! I tend to buy shoes just because the pleasure I get from buying them! I really don't understand this! I keep all my shoes stacked in either the shoe boxes I purchase them in or I go out and buy clear, individual shoe box containers for them. I have them all stacked up in my closet (not organized yet since the move....but will be!)

I tend to limit myself to just a couple NICER pairs a year - my splurge shoes - and other than that I buy my shoes at Target, payless, kohls or Dillards. I ALWAYS buy shoes on sale, that is part of the enjoyment I think.....get great shoes at a great price. But I feel bad that I tend to wear the same half a dozen pairs all the time while the others are just sitting in my closet waiting and hoping that some day I will put them on my feet and show them to the world! I mean as a pair of shoes, what pleasure in life would you get sitting in a box....as a shoe you are only happy walking around the world on the feet of your owner (but I digress).......

So this weekend I went to payless and bought 4 pairs of shoes for $46 - YAY!! Two are the pairs shown above (I may go back and get the top pair in hot pink too) and the other two are awesome black boots. Side note: The only problem I have found with Payless is you usually have to buy shoe inserts to make heals/dress shoes more comfortable, but otherwise the shoes are great!!! Now I know I will wear the black boots as I do not have a pair of black boots but I am worried about the two above. I WANT to wear them, but in the morning when I am getting ready I tend to go to the same old shoes out of habit and familiarity (and comfort as my current shoes are worn in). So why do I continue to buy the shoes - I don't know....THAT'S THE PROBLEM!!!! I think I need help! I feel bad spending the money (however let's remember they ARE on sale) but I just like to buy tons of different varieties/styles of shoes because they are cute and someday I may just want to wear that perfect shoe somewhere.

I may have to enroll in shoe anonymous tomorrow! :(

Have a GREAT semester!!!

Good luck to everyone going back to school this week!!! I know there are a few of you out there who will be heading back to school today or later this week and I really hope each of you have a wonderful semester!

A Pic. For My Sister (ok and me too)!!!

This is Jared Leto.

I posted this picture for my sister.
(and for me)

We both think that he is VERY Hott!!!

Some may not agree or like him but I don't care!

He is DEFIANTLY on my list....so gorgeous - and do you see his blue eyes?!

I Also LOVE the band 30 Seconds to Mars (which he is in) & I highly recommend their CD.

(That is it...no other point to this posting except to announce how gorgeous I think he is. I am sorry if this wasted your time, but a girl has to do what a girl has to do....I know you all understand.)

I want I want I want!!!!

So I TOTALLY LOVE these Shoes. You can design your own at www.converse.com. They are about $60, which is reasonable for your own pair of custom made converse shoes!!! The funny thing is I designed these shoes a month or two ago and my sister, Rambles and Brambles or K.W. Blog on the side, just told me and wrote a blog about the pair of converse she designed. Visit her blog to see her design, but let's just say you can tell we are sisters...they are almost identical!!! hehe I am so ordering these in the next month or so! SO EXCITING!!!

Oh, and yes you did read that correctly my sister is blogging again!!! Yeah, I can't believe it either but I do forgive her b/c she had a pretty busy first semester at college. (P.S. All A's and one B - made the Deans List....WAY TO GO K!!!!!) I barely saw her and we live in the same town! However much to my surprise she has a new found love of the blog and she promises she will try to blog more often! She may not blog everyday, she isn't as addicted as I am but I would say at least once or twice a week! Please read her blog because she is VERY funny - she takes after her older sister! K. you seriously crack my shit up!!!!

So in summary: I love and want these converse and my sister is freak'n hillarious!!!

Waking Up Is Hard To Do!

So first I am going to say how EXTREMELY appreciative I am of the time I get off during Christmas break. We get a lot of time, being at a college, and I know most places do not have that “benefit”. My husband, infact, only gets Christmas Day and New Years Day (thank goodness this year the eve’s fell on Sunday and he got that off too) but typically that is all he gets. So once again I am very happy to get the time off.

With that said, it doesn’t mean it is easy getting up after time off. We all know this, whether it is 3 days or 11 days off, it is hard getting up once you adjust to certain sleeping habits or staying up past your bedtime! As exciting as it is to see familiar faces and a good friend at work, I have to tell you that today was not only a struggle to wake but also a little confusing and thus taking more of my time to get ready!

What confused me:
- This morning my ears were confused by the sound of the alarm
- My body was confused by the having to get up early (considering the past week I have been waking up at a time that is still considered morning – but barely)
- My feet were confused by work shoes
- My morning routine was confused as this was the first time I have gotten ready for work at our new place
- I was confused by how to do my hair (see Not So Much below)
- I was confused by actually doing my make-up (I never wear make up but with my new hair I feel it is important)
- My rings didn’t want to go on my fingers this early
- My cats were confused why I was leaving as they were use to me spending all day lounging around with them….P.S. they wanted me to stay so bad one actually got sick on the carpet this morning in an attempt to get me to stay – silly cats!
- I had a new route to take to work which wasn’t confusing but more so different
- My new route to work does not take me by Starbucks which is just crazy!

However, even with as tired as I am and all the “confusion” this morning it is nice to get back to work and not have to worry about students this week, see friends, get off work at 4:30 and see everyone is refreshed and in good moods! It makes it easier to make it through the day when you know everyone feels the same way you do at this moment…tired yet refreshed from the long break!

(So when is our next day off????)

I May Be Getting Too Old For This?!?!

So for New years Eve T & some of our good friends went to our favorite place in BG (Howards) to listen to our friends band Sledge (who by the way - ROCK!!!!) for a great New Years Eve celebration! Every year Sledge plays at Howards to rock in the New Year. Last year T & I took New Years celebrating off and stayed in (which was a great) but we were really look forward to spending some time out with our friends! The great thing about going to Howards on New Years is that there are not that many people and you know pretty much everyone there - so it is like a huge ass party with live music and friends, AWESOME!

But here is the thing, I think I may be getting too old to party hard. A couple times a year is all my body may be able to take. Yes, I am only a few months away from turning 27 - which is still young, but I just don't have that up-all-night partying and drinking attitude that I had a few years ago! I partied pretty hard during college but in recent years my partying attitude has seemed to dwindle to an occasional drink here or there. No more happy hour at 4pm and no more partying till 5am!!

So we went out around 10:45pm (which during the week is way past my bedtime) and came home a little after 2am. I was proud of myself for still being able to put down a decent number of my favorite drink (captain morgans and 7up with lime ~ YUM!!) knowing when to stop to have a good buzz and yet avoid the dreaded spins and hangover. But by 1:00ish I could definalty feel the oldness kicking in, the body saying I am tired and need sleep. Why couldn't Sledge do an "early bird" show?!?!

So in honor of my oldness here is my "Top 10" list of How you know you are getting too old to party hard?

10. When normally you are fast asleep at the time you are planning to go out.

9. When everyone you are with goes home with the same person they came with (and that person is a spouse or soon to be spouse)

8. When you leave the bar with your sig. other and tell your friends you are going to "go to bed" you DO actually go home and go to sleep.

7. When you know your limit of alcohol and know when to stop to avoid the spins or a hangover the next morning! (whether you choose to follow it or not is your call, but by our age we know how much we can drink!)

6. When most of the people you are with have kids and it is intentional.

5. When you take your sinus pills early enough to avoid mixing pills and liquor (unlike when you were younger and liked that mixture)!

4. When you think or say "This music is WAY too loud!"

3. When you can actually buy the drink you want and don't just drink Natie Light Draft b/c it is all you can afford.

2. When you have to pack Tums in your purse so everyone you are with can make it through a night of drinking without getting heartburn/indigestion.

1. When you are at the bar and you can't wait to write a blog the next day about how old you feel!

We did have a great time though....so no matter how old I may feel, I can still party (but just with a few restrictions) HAPPY 2007 EVERYONE!!!!

Please feel free to mention any others!!!

Are You Kidding Me?

So this just completely upset me.

T & I went to Starbucks New Years Eve afternoon to get some delicious hot beverages. We went through the drive through and in front of us there was a person (who I will refer to as asshole, T preferred douchebag - but it is my blog and I will call him asshole). Asshole paid for his drink and then the great Starbuck barista's handed asshole his blended drink. Asshole then proceeded to give the person working at the window a couple items of trash from his car to have them throw it away. WHAT??? Seriously, I could not believe what I saw. It looked like a taco bell cup and wrappers! I didn't realize people actually did this. What an absolute ASSHOLE!!! He wasn't a college student either (not like that is an excuse, the guy ooked to be in his late 30's and was in a nice car. T & I pulled up to the window and asked if what we saw was for real and they half smiled and said yes (obviously they were being nice) but T & I defiantly vocalists our distain for people like this all the way home. Seriously - what an asshole!
