I Need These Today!

So today we are closing on the condo so my best friend today are tums! It is a nervous excited feeling I get! I got it before the wedding, before any of the events I plan, before flying, even before I played basketball in high school! I just have a nervous belly! So to quiet my belly down today I am eating an extremly large number of Tums to help! (P.S. I think Tums taste great - maybe b/c I eat them so much I forced myself to like them!)

Thank you Tums, you seriously rock!

Last night I had my first dream about everything for closing going very wrong! T & I went different places and niether of which was the title office we needed to close at! Once we finally got there 3 hours late the title office had been taken over by dinosaurs! (I watched Godzilla last night) So to avoid this I am definatly going to yahoo directions today and making sure both T & I know exactly where to go and when to be there! As for the dinosaurs, I think that part won't be much of a problem - LOL!

These are TOO cute!!

So even though we are not planning on have kids for a few more years this last weekend I bought my first baby "outfit" for a kid to be named later! It was similar to the one above (couldn't find the exact pic) except it said "I listen to Iron Maiden with My Daddy!" How cute is that???? T. even loved it and thought it was cool (and then told me to put it in a drawer and forget about it for at least 3 more years - haha).

So there is an entire market of rock clothes for babies/toddlers and I love it! Of course my future childs wardrobe will not be entirely these items as they are rather expensive and I do realize they will grow out of them and get dirty, but I do like knowing these items are out there and my child will definatly have some of these for as long as I can dress him/her!!! I also like that there is a market/options out there for people who want to dress their kids in something other than pink flowers and blue bears (please note there is absolutly nothing wrong with pink and blue clothes if that is your taste, it just isn't 100% mine - more like only 46% my taste!). I also love the baby converse shoes - seriously WAY too cute!!!

Click HT Baby @ Hottopic.com for more baby/child clothing items!

These are "THOSE" Neighbors!

So This is actually really cool AND real! I guess they do this every year, put music to their lights! Someone has alot of time on their hands - hehe!

I would hate to live next to these guys because your lights will never be good enough!

Happy Belly!

My mom brought up this weekend these Happy Feet fruit snacks (from the movie) that she got at Sam's Club! My sister left them at my Apt. so now they are mine - hehehe! I tried a pack and I must say they are wonderful! I am kinda particular with fruit snacks, but these are very delicious! I assume they are available in stores since the movie is out, so I suggest picking up a box!

Thanks for the fruit snacks mom! Lets hope there are some left over for K!

P.S. - not sure if I want to see this movie or not. If anyone has seen it let me know b/c I just can't decide if it will be funny or not! I guess I will decide when it comes to DVD!

Christmas Gift Ideas!

(You can actually buy this Charlie Brown Christmas Tree above! Haha! I know T. would love this!)

This is a cute website! (click here) It is a gift website that has ideas for gifts for everyone for all occasions! It has some really cute ideas and it has given me some really cute ideas for gift giving! You can shop/search by age, gender, category of gifts, occasion, and/or price! It is pretty cool! Some of you may have known about this, but I just found it so I thought I would share!

Tenacious D - ROCKS!!!!

So this past Saturday night my husband, sister and I (M & MD were also there with pretty kick-ass seats) went to see Tenacious D in Detroit! I have to say – I was blown away, the concert was AWESOME!!!!

They preformed for just over two hours straight with only a couple minute “set-change” in there. They sounded great and played every song I wanted to hear! They have to be the greatest rock band ever!! I have never seen them before live and didn’t know what to expect and was completely blown away with how great and fun they were! They even did the Who’s CD “Tommy” montage at the end of the concert – how cool is that?!?!?! I have to say this was a nice little capper to a great Thanksgiving weekend we had!

I do have to say there were a couple “issues” with the concert we noticed…. The crazy “frat” boys sitting in front of us smoking stink-ass, rancid weed; the crazy “frat” boys in front of us singing loudly to each song to each other (weird); the $20 to park (however – not so bad b/c I would have paid $50 to be as close as we were to the theater when in Detroit); it was freak’n hot where we were standing; and Dave Grohl wasn't there, not that I thought he would be but I wanted him to be there - hehe ……but overall it was SO VERY AWESOME!!!!

I had a great time and highly suggest seeing one of their shows!

M & MD, I hope you had a great time as well!!!

So if you are feeling brave this Friday and want to attempt to enter the shopping world on the day that is labeled “Black Friday” then here is some information you may find helpful! If you REALLY want to attempt going out to get, what looks like actually pretty kick-ass sales, then you are going to need to be prepared! Also, some of these places offer really sweet on-line sales as well so you can scope those out! Straight Down the Middle! (Thanks K & S!)

You Are 50% Left Brained, 50% Right Brained

The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

I Hate Schmoozing!

So T. works at an autoparts store in our town and recently he has taken on alot of extra responsibilities. Well he is basically managing the store and in turn learning the ins-and-outs of management. He really enjoys the freedom to do more at his job and take on a leadership role! (way to go T) So when he told me he would be going to his first marketing conference for the company I was VERY excited for him!

However, that excitement quickly changed when he told me the owner and his wife were going and I was going to be spending the day shopping with his wife.....huge sigh.

So here is the thing, people in blog world who don't know me. First, I am a nice person and I think I give out a rather nice first impression to people who don't really know me and can "schmooze" and fake any conversation. But it doesn't mean I like it!! I HATE schmoozing and forcing conversation with someone I don't know. I am sure she is a very nice and lovely person, but I can only be nice and fake for so long before it just becomes tiring! I hate and am not good at making small talk for extended periods of time.....I would much rather walk in silence than faking a conversation.

Second - I hate shopping! Seriously! The only time I like to shop is if there is a sale during the week and I have a specific list of items I need to get and I know exactly where to get these items. I make it quick, I don't linger or search for the best deals, and I get out! I am not one of these people who can walk around a mall for hours searching for nothing - what is the point??? I don't go to a place with tons of annoying people, where it is hot and stuffy, with children, and contains annoying people (had to mention that again) without a purpose!! That is crazy! That is why they invented shopping online!!!

Finally, If I am shopping you can bet at some point I will get annoyed with someone and want to make a bitchy or smart-ass comment to the person I am with. I can't do this with T's bosses wife! I am going to be forced to keep all that frustration in and I personally don't think that is good for my health! (I believe it does a great damage on ones bowels to keep opinions and frustration inside!)

So anyways - I am going in semi-positive because it is for T and this is a great opportunity for him and it makes him happy. I won't complain too much to him and I am sure it will be ok and I am making a bigger deal about this than what it will be. (or that is what I am saying to myself to keep me sane) I guess this is what marriage is about - compromising. He does come to my events so I will do this with a perky smile on my face and frustrated bowels, expecting nothing but a hug at the end. (However, I must say that MY event he went to involved him bringing his friend and included a baseball game, beer, and hotdogs.....not exactly the same - hehehehe)

So any convo starters or suggestions for schmoozing? I am going to need help!!!

Question of the Day - Holiday Edition!

(I get even more emotional/sentimental over the holidays than normal - if that is possible)

Blogging world - meet Lady

Lady was our families Golden Retriever Dog for nearly 13 years! Lady passed away last year in June. She was a great dog and being a little bias, I would say the best dog ever!!! (sorry other pet owners - you would say the same thing about yours!)

Lady loved the holidays (well she really loved everyday, can't you tell from the mardi gras pic above) but she ecspecially loved the holidays - her favorite day THANKSGIVING!!! The turkey (turkey was her favorite) and all the smells of food cooking all day long! I mean, how could it not be anyone's favorite holiday?!?! She would lay in the kitchen, right square in the middle of the floor eagerly awaiting morsels of food that would "fall" from the kitchen counters.

Last year was hard celebrating Thanksgiving without her not only because she was (and still is) part of the family, but also because of how much she loved the day! As we approach Thanksgiving this year I once again think of Lady. Anyone who has a pet in their life knows how close a bond you form with them. They DO become your family, know when to comfort you, have distinct characteristics, and become an important part of your life. We do miss her so very much and even though we are having Thanksgiving at our place this year I know we will still feel her presence with us as well as the presence of all those people in our lives who will be with us in spirit over the holidays!

However, with as much as we may miss Lady (or other members of our family) over the Holidays I find extreme comfort in the smells, laughter, music, food of the holidays. I think our senses are extremly powerful and we can recall certain moments, whether happy or sad, in our lives with just a familiar smell or sound. I think that is amazing and because I grew up in a close family that celebrated with food and music I know that I will always remember people/places/pets/moments in my life because they have that association with me!

So here is the Question of the day - Do you have any favorite memories about the holidays that tie to a certain person, smell, sound, food?

I Keep This in Mind

Last night as I created one of my many "To Do" lists for the next couple weeks (Oh how I love lists) I stopped for a moment and thought to myself - here we go again. The holiday season is quickly approaching and we are about to begin the craziness of the holidays. In the next week most of us will either be traveling to visit our family and/or friends for thanksgiving, having people over for thanksgiving, or maybe doing both. We will be shopping, cleaning, baking, cooking, (packing in our case), and then moving straight to Christmas (or whatever you celebrate) to start shopping and preparing our homes for the rest of the holiday season. During this time we may get angry or upset more easily, forget to say thank you/excuse me/hello to those around us, not pay attention when on the road, not pay attention to our family/friends, and overall we tend to loose ourselves in all the commotion of the next month or so that we forget what the holidays are really all about. I obviously can't speak for anyone on what the holidays mean to each of you but to me it is about love, hope, giving, remembrance, celebration, family & friends, kindness towards others and a faith in something bigger than all of us. Of course we should try to live this all the time but it tends to be easier to forget about this stuff this time of year.

As I get older I try to let those I love know as much as possible how much I care and appreciate them but sometimes no matter how hard we try (I try) we still get caught up in the holidays and forget to tell those around us what they mean to us! I am hoping as things get crazy I can keep myself grounded and remember that it isn't about the best sales at the store, preparing a “perfect” holiday meal, football games, who has the best or most decorations, what gifts I give or receive, how big our tree is - it is about being thankful for what you have in your life and those people who make it special. It is also about remembering those who are less fortunate then ourselves or who will not be celebrating the holidays with their loved ones. Keeping these individuals in our thoughts is just as important during the holidays. I feel truly blessed in my life in SO many ways and I want to live and love everyday to its fullest and make sure that everyone in my life knows how much I love and appreciate them!

Our New Additions!

We are SO excited!!! T & I went up to Furniture Row for the first time ever tonight after work and picked out everything we will need for our new place! So yes, we don't actually have the place (closing is nov 30) but we couldn't pass up the holiday deals they had! Plus it was no payments no interest for 36 months! YAY! Also, they knocked off the amount you had to spend in order to get said discount in half which was even better!

So T & I ordered the above items, and we are so happy with our purchases! We got an off-white sofa and love seat in this enduro-suede which is a micro-fiber fabric which is extremely durable, ecspecially with people who have cats!!! We also got part of the bedroom group pictured above! We needed a bedframe, as well as a dresser and this was so pretty and such a great deal! Finally (and unfortunatly not pictured) is my favorite purchase - our dining room table! It is a solid wood long table with a cherry finish with chairs that have the same enduro-suede cushions on them. It is awesome! When T&I pulled up to the store about 45 minutes before they closed we saw the table and said - that is it! We looked at it and just loved it! Within 20 minutes we had looked at everything in the store and picked out what we wanted/needed. It was so quick and so easy and we are SO excited!!! We still can't believe what great deals we got on everything.

It will be nice to finally have a set of matching furniture that is a good quality and isn't borrowed/used by who knows how many people before!

Public Service Announcement For All Car Owners:

I am very sad to report the loss of an important “friend” of mine – the turn signal! I rely so much on the turn signal and I wish car makers would re-install and/or stop removing turn signals from cars! It seems like more and more cars (old and new) do not have turn signals, or so I would assume since I never see them getting used by people. It is sad because I really like my turn signal and find it very helpful when communicating with other drivers on the road. It helps me tell them where I plan on going and I use it to see where they want to go, but now I am just all confused with the elimination of the great turn signal. I don’t know how, when or why turn signals became obsolete on most cars out there – but they have and I don’t like it! And the thing is, we have no way of telling which cars do and do not have their turn signals. A lot of times it seems like hugely oversized trucks and SUV’s come with out it, as well as, small cars with overly big spoilers on the back. But I can’t 100% rely on that observation alone.

Luckily, my wonderful Honda comes with a great turn signal. It has a nice sound, doesn’t take up much space, is conveniently located on the left hand side of my steering wheel – it is great!! All I have to do is extend one (or two) fingers out while I still hold on to the wheel and push my fingers either up or down depending on the direction of which I am turning! AND, I don’t even have to do anything after I turn – it turns off automatically! It is great!

So I ask all of you if you know of people who do not have turn signals in their cars, please ask them to get them re-installed! And make sure to only buy cars that come equipped with this wonderfully overlooked car item! It isn’t about the CD player, the DVD player, or the GPS system – it is all about my friend the turn signal (the greatest invention EVER!!).

Thank you for your time

Good to Buy!

So the home inspection went remarkably well last night! We were VERY pleased with our wonderful inspector (thanks MD) and are even more pleased that there is nothing structurly wrong with the place! Infact there were only a couple very minor things we are going to work out with our condo association, some cosmetic changes and other than that I am thinking we are good to go!!!

This older lady REALLY took great care of this 20-some year old duplex. The windows were made in 1980 but look brand new, the carpet looks new, there are hardly any holes in the wall where she may have hung stuff, and it was a VERY clean place!

She/they didn't go cheap on anything either. She used the best paint, the nicest brand of carpet, good windows, installed this kick-ass sliding patio door, and they even added a firewall from the basement to the attick to help incase either us or the neighbors have a fire we are each a little more protected!

So T & I are very excited and looking forward to closing at the end of the month! I am sure I will keep you posted on everything we do! But please still keep your fingers crossed! I won't believe it 100% until we have the keys in our hand!!!!

P.S. - If you are in need of a great home inspector I have someone!

I'm Just Not That Into You

I have to admit I feel like such an outcast during this weekend :(

I wish I was truly passionate for either one of these teams but I am not. Growing up I just never got into this rivalry and never really watched college football until I myself actually got to college. Infact I bought my first Ohio State Sweatshirt 4 years ago so I would have something to wear to work on the dress down day for the game. This is sad, I know.

My family watched the game but there was never a big deal made about this game, or at least not a big enough deal that would make me interested! I didn’t really care to watch sports, I would much rather live my loner life up in my room listening to music and doing something artsy alone. Football was not on my list of fun things I enjoyed watching. If I did watch sports it was ALWAYS baseball! I love baseball! And if I watched football it was nothing but the Browns for me! I am all about the Browns!! But college football - not so much. I just never got into it and now I feel it is too late to be choosing sides b/c my heart isn't with either team.

I will still watch the game b/c one thing is for sure it is always a great game and it is an excuse to drink beer and eat snacks for us! I still get excited to see everyone else get so excited about their teams, that is awesome to have that much passion! But T & I will probably record the game and watch it Saturday evening (he works). And it will be nothing more than a normal weekend for us!

I hope everyone enjoys the game!

T. will be cheering for MI!!

Home Inspection Day Today!!

I am off shortly to go through a 3 hour home inspection at the condo we want to buy! We are very excited!!

Fingers crossed everything turns out ok!

Oh No You Didn't!

So recently I was having a casual conversation with a co-worker. Said co-worker and I are very cordial to each other when we run into one another, however we are not on the “go out and get a drink after work” level.

So, it was a laid back Friday in the afternoon and I had to go over to her office and pick something up. While I was there we got to talk’n about kids (as there is a huge infestation of pregnant people on our campus lately). Since I do not have any kids of my own, nor do I plan on having any for a few years I kept most of my opinions inside. However, we got to talking about baby names and she (the co-worker) asked me what names I liked. Now, of course I have thought about names I like but I haven’t thought in depth about exact names nor have I really sat down and researched potential baby names. (I feel that is part of the excitement of actually being pregnant and will think about it more when the time comes with my husband) However, like I said, there have been some ideas I have had so I proceeded with answering the question.

Our conversation went as follows:

Me: “I don’t really know exactly but I want a nice strong name.”
Co-worker (CW): “Really, such as?”
Me: “Um, for a boy maybe like Christopher or Henry James or something along those lines”
CW: “Ugh” (insert face like she just smelled a huge pile of shit) “How simple and plain, I don’t like names like that!”
Me: (silence – confused/fake smile)
CW: “I want a name that is unique; you have to have a name that is unique”
Me: “Yeah, who knows? That is so far away from me right now – who knows what I will want in 4 years, but I do like stronger names”. (Thinking – you bitch!!)
CW: laughs “Yeah, strong but not boring!”
Me: awkward laugh

So yes folks my unborn, nah, un-conceived and even virtually un-thought of baby is getting his name dissed by a co-worker of mine!! WTF?!?!?! Who does that??? There have been PLENTY of baby names that I personally don’t like but when asked I smile and go with it – b/c it isn’t MY child!!! Granted if someone said they wanted a name like coconut I may ask if there is a special reason or meaning behind the name (and laugh about it to my husband) – but to make it sound like I picked the most horrible name ever is a little ridiculous! It isn’t like I said Spongebob, King Poops-a-lot, or Hitler the second – come on!! I mean, we are just work acquaintances AND you just don’t do that! This is why I will only tell close friends and family what the “baby’s” name is until after it is born. No one will say to a new mom that her new born babies name is stupid!!! LOL

P.S. – Henry & James are both my grandpa’s names so back off CW lady!!!

Shout out!!

So I read this post on popsugar and wanted to give a shout out first to Axl Rose. Normally, we only hear about him acting like a huge diva asshole so it is nice to see him supporting (one of my favorite actors) Michael J. Fox at his benefit for Parkinson’s!!! When asked why the performance, Axl answered “because Michael asked!” How freak’n awesome is that?!?! It is nice to see Axl helping others instead of himself – way to go Axl!

Of course, I also have to give a shout out to Michael J. Fox! I adore him and think he is such a great guy and has helped and will continue to help so many people out there. He is defiantly someone I look up to and I hope will continue to motivate how I help and give back to those around me! He is very inspiring! And to see the pic of him playing the guitar – all I have to say is ROCK ON MICHAEL!!!!

Finally, a BIG shout out to all those individuals dealing with a problem such as this! You are all truly fighters and inspirations to us all!

(FYI: I don’t think that Axl’s appearance was a publicity stunt but rather genuinely motivated.)

(To you know who – I love you & you inspire me everyday to be a better person!! You are the strongest and most giving person I know! Love JTSB, hehe)

Sex on the Big Screen?!?! (again)

Ok, first off - I LOVE Sex in the City! I was very sad to see the show end!
I watch it over and over and never get tired of it! Ever since the show up and ended a couple years ago there have been talks on and off of a movie. Not everyone seemed on board with the idea of a movie, but apparently that may be changing! Rumors have it that they may be in the process of seriously looking into creating a Sex in the City movie!

I have to admit I would be VERY happy to see a Sex in the City movie made b/c I would love to see something new and see where else these characters could go! However I do have an internal conflict with this idea! Don't get me wrong I will be first in line and WILL see the movie because I really do miss the show and think the show ended too early! However, I love the show SO much that I would hate to be disappointed if the movie was not as good as I would hope it to be! (even though I really don’t think this is likely) Also, putting a 40 minute TV show into a movie could be tricky, and maybe the show isn’t meant to be on the big screen?!?! AND, the way the show ended was great to me. I think they kept true to the characters and ended the show in a way that left you wanting more but also satisfied – and that is a good way to end!

Sigh – who knows! I just don’t want them to keep teasing me! Either put a movie out or shut up because my emotions can not take this!

P.S. – I think the writers would do a fantastic job on a movie script!

No Clean Clothes for Us!

So I do not agree with stealing, however I must recognize what happened this week in our apartment complex.

So we live in a traditional 12 unit/3 floor apartment complex in a college town. We are on the bottom floor and right outside our "unit" in the hall are 2 washers and 2 dryers. We often say it is nice living that close to the washers and dryers because we can hear people everytime someone takes their clothes out or put some in and we know when to or when not to wash our clothes. So, anywho - Our landlord just installed a brand new washer and dryer just a couple months ago! Since we had 4 crappy ones before it was nice to have at least one brand new washer and dryer that worked great! So I must say that I was rather surprised when I came home the other night and noticed our washer and dryer were gone out of our apartment complex.

I told T. that evening that they were gone and T said that isn't right and proceeded to call our landlord. Lets just say the landlord was not happy on the other end of the phone b/c apparently someone had stolen the new washer and dryer sometime the night before! WHAT??? HOW???

Terry said he went to bed around 2am and never heard anything so apparently these sneaky bandits took the washer and dryer early in the wee morning hours and without being seen by anyone. You see, this is a college town, I would have expected someone to be up!!! So these dirty clothed bandits unhooked the washer & dryer, quietly moved it from it's snug position between another dryer and the washer, carried it up steps, loaded into a large truck (I assume), and drove off in the middle of the night without being seen or heard. WOW! If only these bandits had the same determination in life that they had for stealing a $600 washer and dryer set then I bet they could do great things in this world! So now there is a big void where our new washer and dryer was (literally & figuratively) and a pile of dirty clothes that have no where to go!

So even though I don't encourage or support stealing, I have to at least give these fine model citizens credit for knowing how to steal such large items without being seen or heard. Way to go and thanks alot - assholes!!!

Reason 742 I can't WAIT to get out of these apartments!

Johnny Depp is MY Choice!

So I believe I never have to have a reason to post a blog about the wonderful Johnny Depp but I wanted to give him a shout out because he was nominated for 3 People's Choice Awards this year! YAY!!! I have loved him forever and it is nice to see him get recognized for the work he does! The awards are not until Jan 9 but I am sure we will be seeing alot of him next year during award season!

They Are Here!!!

We just got our wedding pictures today from the photographer! I have looked at them so many times today but I really can't wait to sit down and look at them with my husband!!!

It has made me smile looking back on the pictures and has helped me remember what a wonderful day that was! Now comes the hard part- trying to figure out which ones we want in our book!!!! OH MY GOODNESS, this is such a happy week for so many reasons!

Friends/Family - you should be getting your link to the webpage today, if not please let me know and I will forward it on to you!!

Question of The Day?

So i started packing and I have realized T & I have a rather large collection of CD's between the two of us! I own around 425 and terry owns slightly over 500! Is this normal??? I knew I loved CD's and had a rather large number but when I actually counted them last night I was rather amazed! Now, this does include burned copies of CD's and the CD's I have gotten from i-tunes and does not include records that we will be burning to CD (you can do this now!). I think it is b/c I am in a music club and get awesome deals on CD's and the fact we just love music! I don't know how large a bookshelf we will need when we combine our CD's together in the new place?!?!?! It should be interesting! It also opened my eyes to some of the interesting phases of music I have gone through! You name it I have tried listening to it! I think now I have definatly found my taste in music to be rock, blues, and metal but I still love every CD I own!

Some of my "favorites" I came across that I forgot about:
1. Crash Test Dummies - God Shuffled his Feat (I LOVED this CD)
2. Green Day - Dookie (Still one of my favorites!!!)
3. Montell Jordan - This is How we do it (during my R&B Phase)
4. I owned all the Boyz to Men/Backstreet Boys/N'Sync Cd's - I tried to listen to these to fit in but I really didn't like that type of music (HS peer pressure) I am embarrassed :(
5. Hanson - mmm Bop (don't knock it people, great CD)
6. Waiting to Exhale Soundtrack - (fits the Montell Jordan Phase) I think there was a two year period that I only bought CD's from movie soundtracks and/or show tunes!

I could keep going - but these all specifically made me smile and think about certain times in my life! I think that is why I truly love music b/c it can take you back to a certain period in your life and all those memories from that time come flowing back. To me music is about healing, love, fun, inspiration, encouragement, release, and much much more! I will not be selling any of these CD's anytime soon b/c to me these are just like pictures, moments in time that help me remember all the times in my life!

I guess we will just need a bigger bookshelf!

So the Question of the Day????
Do you have certain CD's that take you back to a certain time/place? Or CD's you can't believe you use to like, still own or won't get rid of?

Remember to VOTE today!!!

Oh, and the newer computer system is easy but I think I thought too much about it and made it slightly harder than it was suppose to be at first! Lets just say it took me a minute or two to figure out where the little card went! I am sure all the retirees working the booth thought, damn that technologicaly challenged girl - what is up with her?!?!?! But after that, it was a breeze!!!

The Best Delivery EVER!!!

So there is this new delivery place in BG and it is awesome - It is called the cookie jar!!! The cookie jar delivers freshly baked cookies to you straight from the oven - YES, can you believe it?!?!?! My sister, being the in the know college girl she is, told us about this place so last night T & I decided to give it a try! So we called up and ordered the minimum order of 6 chocolate chip cookies. You can get up to a dozen cookies and they come in about 5-6 different varieties as well as a feature cookie of the day! THEN, if this is already not great enough, they asked if we wanted milk or coffee as well!!! SERIOUSLY - FREAK'N AWESOME!!! Being that we already had milk at home, we declined and simply got the cookies!

So about 30 minutes later we had freshly baked cookies delivered to our door in a pizza like box! They smelled SO good and the cookies were HOT! These cookies were so warm, chewy, chocolaty (is this a word) delicious! T & I were very impressed and very happy! Hopefully someday soon everyone will have one of these magical places near them and will get to experience having freshly baked chocolate ship cookies (and milk) delivered to their front door :-)

I'm In Love!

So for those who don't know I am addicted to kitchen things! Appliances, gadgets, counters, cupboards - ANYTHING! I just love the feel of a kitchen and everything that comes with it! I think kitchens hold very strong/great memories of childhood for me which is one reason why the kitchen is so great AND also kitchen gadgets/appliances are so damn cool!!! ;-)

So T & I have wanted a kitchen aid blender for some time, but due to the limited space in our apartment it never seemed logical - but that is all about to change! With the hopefully soon to be purchase of our new place (blog below) we (I) can't wait to happily add the new addition of a kitchen aid to our kitchen gadget cache! Until recently I was going to get the Chrome color, but a new color has been added to the kitchen aid line and I am IN LOVE! It is cinnamon gloss (above). It is a much deeper red then their traditional kitchen aid red color. It is SO beautiful and will look great in our new kitchen!!

click here for the kitchen aid website! But word of warning - please enter with caution as you too could become highly addicted!!!

And So IT Begins!!!!

So this weekend the bid we put on a house (condo) got accepted! YAY :-)

The condo is a really cute two-story plus basement duplex (side-by-side) place! It is also in ready to move in condition so it will just need a good cleaning and then some cosmetic surgery over time (like take out the wall-paper that covers every inch of the place - haha). But that will come in time and is the fun stuff - I already am picking out colors of paint!!!! This is such a cute starter home for us - we love it!

So begins the process of buying a house! We are meeting with our bank this week to finish the approval process! We were already pre-approved so hopefully this will go smoothly! Then in the next couple weeks we will meet with a home inspector, a lawyer and misc. people and pending any unseen problems we are scheduled to close on November 30! YIPPIE! This timing couldn't work out better for us as we will be closing at the end of the month and can start moving in over the next couple weeks (we are keeping our apartment through december). So by Christmas we will be transitioned into our new home!!!!

We also started packing this weekend and we will continue moving things to our storage unit so we can be fairly well packed by the end of the month! I also like the feeling of going through boxes and stuff that haven't been touched in sometime and remeniscing over those items and or throwing out old items! It feels good to start fresh and clean out the old clutter in our lives! This entire process is great, exciting, a little nerve racking and just plain FUN!!! I will be sure to update you as we continue this exciting time and any suggestions to make this transition smoother will be greatly accepted and appreciated!!!!

P.S. Our cats are very excited as well! Last night they were helping us pack by first inspecting all the empty boxes for space, comfort and weight restrictions! They are such helpful kitty's ;-)

Thank you C. for everything! You have made this very easy for us!

Borat you make me smile!

So this weekend Borat is coming to the big USA movie theater screens! I am SO excited to see this movie! My parents introduced T & I to Borat via the Ali G Show on HBO! It is such a great show! It was created and stars Sacha Baron Cohen, a comedian and the show cracks me up! He plays a couple other characters besides Borat, but Borat is defiantly my favorite!

Put Down the Donut!

So I saw this article on CNN.com today. It is about a Police Chief in Winter Haven (personal shout out to my friend in WH) who got fired because he sent a memo out to the cops in his department suggesting those who are not in shape lose weight. Now the title of his memo which was “Are you a jelly belly” may not have been the most positive title but I think the point remains the same…should cops be required to stay in shape and take regular fitness tests after they have been hired? Some places require this some, like Winter Haven require no additional physical testing after their initial fitness test to get hired. But as a cop should it be mandatory everywhere that if you are out in the field you should maintain a certain physical level to continue your job?

Here is what the Chief said…..
“In his memo, titled "Are You a Jelly Belly," the chief never singled anyone out, and apart from the title, didn't call anyone names.

Instead, he provided a list of 10 reasons police officers should be in shape. He said overweight police poorly represent the profession, poop out when chasing suspects and might have to resort to "a higher level of force" if a criminal got the upper hand in a fight. He said out-of-shape cops are a liability to the city and their families.

"Take a good look at yourself," he wrote. "If you are unfit, do yourself and everyone else a favor. See a professional about a proper diet and a fitness training program, quit smoking, limit alcohol intake and start thinking self-pride, confidence and respectability. And stop making excuses for delaying what you know you should have been doing years ago. We didn't hire you unfit and we don't want you working unfit. Don't mean to offend, this is just straight talk. I owe it to you."

I have to agree with him. If you are a cop, in the field, then you should be in some sort of good shape and I think that all cops should be required to take yearly fitness tests. It is part of the job to stay in shape. I defiantly don’t think this alone should have caused him to get fired. Apparently this memo hurt some other cop/s feelings - whatever!!!!
