Rock Bus Of Skanky Crazy Whores

So does anyone watch Rock Bus Of Skanky Crazy Whores? Come on, I know we all love this show! I am not so much a fan of Mr. Pouty Lips Michaels but I absolutely LOVE watching these girls throw themselves at him so they can either live out some fantasy of sleeping with a rocker or think they really have a chance to marry the cowboy hat / doo-rag combo wearing man whore. I mean, come on girls this is the third season already – get a clue! I don’t think he is going to find the love of his life on a Vh1 reality show.

And these girls, oh these girls are an interesting group of idolizers. They love them some attention from Bret or more specifically maybe they just love attention from middle age rockers. As always the producers of the show did a great job of picking a good balance of crazies, dumb asses, shy girls, alcoholics, loud mouths, and the clique “fan of the music” girls. Thank you for not letting me down.

As for favorites, well I have a list of girls I think should stay on the show because they make me laugh, cringe, and crave more of the drama each episode. But as for actually “winning” the “love” of Mr. I Just Want To Bang These Girls Michaels ...... I really have no favorite.

I would like to share some of my favorite quotes. The first section is from Ashley, the girl that looks like a skanky version of Juliette Lewis, who tends to have the best nonsensical quotes ever.

Favorite quotes so far:
Ashley: “Get over it. Everyone pukes, and poops their pants.”
Ashley: “Bret is a rockstar. If your gonna date a rockstar get used to falling off the stage BITCH.”
Ashley: “I'm not here for you. I'm here for Bret. I want a cheeseburger!”
Ashley: “I'm gonna puke on your mom. She loves it.”

Kelsey: “I have no clue where Champagne is but all I know is that we're going to the bottom of the bottle.”
Marcia: referring to how heavy her suitcase is "Brittaney is in my suitcase.... BRITTANEY! Why'd you have to eat all those cheeseburgers?"
Brittaney: “If people could have sex behind closed doors, what's wrong with putting it on camera”
Brittaney: “I haven't put on skates in a really long time, but it was kinda nice cause when I was growing up I was actually a competitive ice skater. I was so good I was competing against 18 year olds winning gold medals at the age of 7... I prolly would have been an Olympic hopeful if I didn't have to quit... But I really like how my life turned out in the adult industry...”
Natasha: “OMG the pornstar stole our dirty socks!”
Melissa: “OMG I popped my freaking implant”
Beverly: “I will not marry Bret Michaels looking like a hooker”
Marcia: “crazy va jay jay”

Aw….I LOVE this show.

Nearly Perfect Mac & Cheese!

It is no big secret that over the years my relationship with cooking has evolved from something I do OK but do out of necessity to something I am pretty good at that I enjoy doing to something that I am experimenting with to create my own dishes and find truly relaxing.

So you will understand why I have been frustrated that I have never been able to get the right consistency for a simple mac & cheese dish. So imagine my absolute delight when last night it finally happened, I perfected the consistency of my mac & cheese. YAY! I know this is a weird thing to be excited about but I have been trying for awhile now to get a nice thick cheese sauce. And though mine always tastes fine, it has been a bit runny :(

So what was the trick.....well I mixed the butter and flour and cooked it (like I always do), then added half broth and half milk and then here it is - I turned the heat up to med/high! Perfecto! Typically i leave it on low once I add the liquids thinking if I turn it up it may ruin the milk ...but alas, I went out on a limb and realized it was infact the heat that makes the sauce nice and creamy! I really did not know this and most recipes I have come across do not mention to turn the heat up.

I would like to say that I do understand that it is a bit sad HOW excited I got about finally getting my mac & cheese to the perfect consistency, however if you would have tried some of it I am sure you would have been JUST as thrilled as I was.

Now that I have it to the perfect consistency, I am going to try to perfect the entire dish so that it tastes fantastic! First attempt, broil the mac & cheese so it crisps up the top - YUM!

Kohl's, Your One Stop Shop For Slippers, Scarves and Swiss Army Knives?!?!

This cracked me up!!!

I really wish I could get a better picture of this but I had to share anyways. I was looking online at Kohls and I clicked on the "Women's Accessories" link. This is what came up...
Click HERE to see the actual website, as the pics below are not great.

Right next to the women's scarves, belts, slippers, sunglasses, and cold-weather accessories there was a link for Swiss army knives. Um sure, why not.

And there is just not one style of Swiss army knife available for us multipurpose & practical women but many options and colors. You can even get one in watermelon pink if you feel like keeping your knife/scissor /screwdriver combo a bit more feminine.

*Just in case you were wondering most come with a pen blade, nail file, nail cleaner, screwdriver, serrated-edge scissors, toothpick, tweezers & key ring. I laugh, but it IS actually kind of practical, you no! shhh

Not Trying To Criticize, Just Thinking.

So the other night I recorded the Duggar Family Wedding and I watched it last night. Now I do not watch this show regularly, but when I saw a preview for the wedding I decided to watch.

Now I would like to say for the record, though I would never ever have this many kids or even half as many kids as they have, nor would I choose to raise my kids in an overly religious or ultra conservative way – they seem to be doing a fantastic job with how they raise THEIR kids and all the kids seem to be happy, well-mannered and responsible kids/young adults. I am not trying to be overly critical and I hope I am not coming off as rude because they are just following their own set of beliefs.

(ok, now to contradict what I just said)

However, a couple things struck me as interesting while I was watching last night. First their son and now daughter-in-law only talked and held hands (while being chaperoned) before the wedding, they didn’t even kiss before the wedding, they saved their first kiss for the ceremony. They said it is to keep the purity of the relationship (which I totally respect) but I could never imagine not kissing someone before you marry them. Infact I think it is important to live with someone before you marry them, but that is just me. I mean they are only 20, so I guess at that age it is not too uncommon for a young adult to wait to kiss someone or wait till they are married to have intimate relations with their significant other.

But here is my only alarm….these young kids are getting married at the age of 20 and immediately starting a family. It seems like obviously family is important (which is great) but that getting married and having a family is the ONLY real priority in their life. Well that and religion. And like I said, I don’t think that is always a bad thing, but why so young?! In MY opinion, it just seems like these kids are pushed into getting married at an early age and starting a family. It seems as this is all they really know. And part of me also thinks that because they never do experience that physical connection it pushes them into something even faster….I mean they are 20 for goodness sake, what person that age isn’t interested in that physical aspect of a relationship – especially if you do love someone. So hey, lets get married. (I know, a little rude)

Like I said, how they live their life is not my concern, unless you are putting yourself and way of life out there. But more so, it is just a very interesting way of life they have. I don’t think their values are bad, I just also believe that though sometimes you may want to protect your kids, sometimes you need to let them take their own paths in their own time. If you did a good job raising them, they will figure it out and do what is right. And maybe for them getting married at the age of 20 and starting a family IS right, but is it right because they really want that relationship, or do they want the physical contact, or is it because that is ALL they know and don’t think of any different alternatives.

I don’t really know what my point it…..just open for discussion, your thoughts. Just don’t be nasty.

P.S.
- It was interesting, all the girls said they would not date, but do the courtship*.
-That they all want large families and to get married young.
-The mom had boyfriends before and had a lot of baggage, hmmmm.
-The “Birds and the Bees” convo with the dad – awkward! Yeah dad, I will give you a call on my cell if we have questions on where things go.

* Courtship is the traditional dating period before engagement and marriage. During a courtship, a couple dates to get to know each other and decide if there will be an engagement. Usually courtship is a public affair, done in public and with family approval.

Talk To Me...

So this time of the year is the worst for dry air and you know what, dry air really just pisses me off.

I wake with a sore throat, my nose is dry and sometimes bleeds, my hands are so dry they burn, my skin is so dry when I turn my head it is like a snow fall, my hair is dry and dull, there is tons of static in our house that everything we touch gets shocked (even the cats don’t want to be petted because we keep shocking them). It is horrible.

I know we should get our humidifier out but it doesn’t really help. We are constantly refilling the thing and really having it in one room makes very little difference. Maybe we just have a crap one.

SO, do you have ANY suggestions to help increase the humidity level and to decrease the amount of dry air?!?! Maybe something you do? Something you have heard to try? Some secret tricks to put more moisture into the air? Anything at all?!?!

We Got Tickets!

So we got tickets to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Cleveland in April!!! HOLLA

After a day and a half of trying to get tickets and getting nothing more then a busy signal I finally got through!! This is the first year that the concert has been in Cleveland, it has always taken place in New York. So who are the inductees for this year: Metallica, Jeff Beck, & Run D.M.C. are a few!

I am excited to see Metallica, even if Lars is a complete tool. I also can’t wait to see who else will be there. They always bring in other musicians/celebrities to introduce the inductees and to play their music. I think this is going to be pretty darn cool!

On a side note, I have to say as much as I do love the R&R Hall of Fame I am not always happy with their selection process. There are MANY MANY other bands that SHOULD be in the hall of fame who are not. Why…well maybe they didn’t sell out or were not as “popular” among the critics (Rush, Iron Maiden!), and of course like all things the HOF has its own fair share of politics, which blows. Though I think it is complete bullshit that many bands are not in, I am happy to see this concert in Cleveland where it belongs and to be a part of something really cool! Even if we are in the nose bleed section!

3x + 6[4^2 – (2x- (-6)^3)] Therefore X = WHO THE HELL KNOWS! (and so help you Kristen if you answer this problem because it looks fun…..)

So last night Terry (and his posse) worked on some of his online homework for his math class. Now, it has been at least 15 years for T. since he has taken many of these classes and I have to say I was incredibly impressed with how much he remembered. I mean, I know he is one smart cookie (mmm - cookies) but this is stuff you don’t use on a daily basis…er...once you get out of school. I am not going to lie, as I was looking at the problems I became lost. Of course some I knew after I dusted away a few of the cob webs that have formed on that particular memory crevasse…but many problems looked as unfamiliar to me as the first time I took those classes.

It got me thinking, what the hell are we going to do when T & I have kids in school and we are suppose to "help" them with their homework. Because I will tell you one thing, I don’t think I will be of any use whatsoever! I mean this is basic algebra, ok fine we can deal and I am sure it will come back with some reading but all the big word classes that come after this….sorry Howard spawn, you are on your own! All the other classes I am no too worried about. T & I both have a love of science and chemistry, Terry is fantastic with History, nothing to worry about with English, but Math is our Achilles’ heel. And I have only been out of high school for 10 years and I have forgotten at least 60% (if not way more) of what I learned during that time. Can you imagine how helpful we will be in 20 years when our offspring are in school and we are trying to remember how to do this crap?! Please feel free to NOT answer that question.

Anywho, the lesson of this story...I felt really stupid, our future brood are going to be SOL when it comes to learning math, and all of a sudden I felt old thinking about what age I will be when we have kids and they are in school (I am not suppose to get older!!). (seriously, did someone say cookies during this post)

Oh well, I guess Kristen will just have to live close to us so we can send little Henry & Lily over to Aunt K’s for free math lessons or in the future they will do away with all types of math and we will just rely on our technology to get us by. Yep, that sounds like a plan.

I Love....

Tostitos Salsa con Queso

Word of the Day to STOP Using

Iteration

1. The act or an instance of iterating; repetition.

2. Mathematics
A computational procedure in which a cycle of operations is repeated, often to approximate the desired result more closely.

3. Computer Science
a. The process of repeating a set of instructions a specified number of times or until a specific result is achieved.
b. One cycle of a set of instructions to be repeated: After ten iterations, the program exited the loop.

** It is nothing against all the people who use it, I just hear it alot and frankily I just don't like the way it sounds.

News That Shouldn't Be News

I don't even know what to say about this. People really are idiots.

"A San Diego woman who is auctioning off her virginity said she has now received a bid of $3.7 million, according to a published report.

Natalie Dylan, a 22-year-old San Diego woman, said she got the idea for the auction after her sister was able to pay for her college education after prostituting herself for three weeks, according to the London Telegraph.

Dylan has a degree in women's studies. She told the paper she hopes to pay for an advanced degree in family and marriage therapy with the proceeds from the auction.

She told the Telegraph that she doesn't think she's the only one who will be benefit from the auction.

"I think me and the person I do it with will both profit greatly from the deal," Dylan told the paper.

She claims her offer of a one-night stand has persuaded 10,000 men to bid for sex with her."

I Love....

(As usual I am always late when it comes to beauty type regimens. I have never cared about this stuff, but the older I get the more interested I am to try new things and take care of my skin. So this is my newest revelation!)

Exfoliating!!

So last week when I was out I randomly picked up Clean & Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub (I believe this is a Newer product). I really never use anything other then Clean & Clear products because I LOVE them and have used the Clean & Clear Deep Cream Cleanser on my face since high school. As I never exfoliate on my own – ever - I thought it sounded like something that would be good for my skin and that I should probably do, especially because my skin looks so dull and whenever I shake my head all these dead skin cells just fly off my face. Yeah, it is gross.

So the other night before I went to bed I gave this stuff a go and let me tell you, it instantly looked like I had a new face. My face before = really dull and dry, but this instantly brightened my face and made it SO soft!!

I guess I am kind of suggesting this product as I have NEVER been disappointed in Clean & Clear products, they work really well for my skin type. But more so I am just disappointed in myself for not exfoliating sooner then this week! My last facial was about 9 months ago, so is that like 9 months of piled up dead skin on my face?!?! Exfoliating is my new favorite thing!

The Girl Got A J.O.B.....Throw Your Hands In The Air Like You Just Don't Care!

So my adorable sister Sad Panda FINALLY got herself a job! Read about her job here, immediatly after you read my blog.

So in honor of her new job and for her to get an idea of what to expect I have posted a video for her. I hope this displays a clear picture of what is to come!

Good Luck and YAY for you!

Family Guy Ding Fries Are Done - Awesome video clips here

Going Organic (Sort of)

Over the last 6 months or so Terry and I have started incorporating more organic foods into our life. Not everything we eat we buy organic or think should be organic, but there are things like lettuce, mushrooms, some fruits and some other veggies that we prefer the quality of the organic over regular. We are also looking at buying some organic beef from a farmer this spring.

Anyways, this weekend Terry picked up a few of these Horizon Organic Milk boxes to try. Terry does not drink milk at all, where as my sister and I could easily go through a gallon in just two days between the two of us. I tried the regular, chocolate and the strawberry milk and I have to say that these are fantastic!!

I don't think I will switch to organic. One for the price and second I drink ALOT of skim milk which isn't really milk anyways but Terry said he wants to drink this over regular milk. I also think if I am in the mood for chocolate or strawberry I will drink these instead. (The strawberry is my favorite!!) Now that I have tried the milk, I might have to try some of the other products Horizon Organic sells. Products here

I like the fact that this milk contains:
No antibiotics
No added growth hormones
No dangerous pesticides
No genetically modified organisms
No artificial flavors, synthetic colors or preservatives
No hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils

Do you drink organic milk? Does it even matter to you? Any other milk products you eat that are organic?

And So It Begins……

So today starts what will be Terry’s 3 year journey into a new career! Yep, today is my hubby’s “first” day of school! YAY! Story Here

So Terry will be working full-time at his current job and then taking 3 evening classes at Owens and one web class. His classes are three days a week for three hours in the evening. Needless to say he is going to be pulling some long-ass days, but I know he will be able to do this….he is very determined to make a change in his life. And in case you were wondering I tried to get a picture of him with his book bag & Iron Maiden shirt on heading off this morning to work!! I think he was a little camera shy at 7 am but no worries, I will try again when I see him before his class!! I am SURE he won't mind at all ;)

Good Luck T, we are VERY proud of you!!

An Educational Blog Is A Healthy Blog

So a couple months ago Terry (who is just FULL of random and interesting knowledge, as well as full of other stuff) mentioned that he had heard somewhere that our Taste Buds change every 7 years or so. Hmmm….interesting.

I decided to do a little research on the subject. It is not that I don’t trust what my husband says but sometimes he will be so convincing and make you believe something that is completely false just because he thinks it is funny that you believed him. So therefore, I always double check.

What I learned is that your taste buds may not change exactly every 7 years but you will go through periods where your tastes change. The main reason is that when you were a baby, you had taste buds, not only on your tongue, but on the sides and roof of your mouth. This means you were very sensitive to different foods. (Hence kids not liking brussel sprouts!) As you grew, the taste buds began to disappear from the sides and roof of your mouth, leaving taste buds mostly on your tongue. The average person has about 10,000 taste buds and they're replaced every 2 weeks or so. But as a person ages, some of those taste cells don't get replaced. An older person may only have 5,000 working taste buds. SO, as you get older, your taste buds will become naturally less sensitive (you may have even fewer taste buds because of things like medications, smoking, not getting enough of the right vitamins) so you will be more likely to eat foods that you thought were too strong as a child.

On average you will notice some changes in taste about every 5 to 7 years. It is also reported that along with your taste buds changing so do the olfactory nerves in your nose. Apparently the nerves wear out over time, so they need replacement. Just like skin or hair or the cells of the rest of the body. Therefore causing your tastes to change as well.

Example from me: Up until about a 1 – 1 ½ years ago I hated avocado….nah loathed them. I didn’t like the texture, the taste, their look. Then I was out and decided to try guacamole and I LOVED it. I now want to eat avocados on anything I can and just love them.

So there you go. Your semi-educational tidbit for the day.

(Or maybe I am just really BS-ing you to make you believe this is true?!?! No No, it is true……………….or is it?)

A New 2009 Attitude

So I decided to try what TWIT had on her blog (here) about writing down 5 things every day that have graced my life that day. I have done this in the past through a gratitude journal but it has been awhile since I have consistently kept a list. As I am trying to make some personal changes in 2009, I think this would be a good thing to do.

I will be posting mine on the side of my blog and also keeping a separate list in a journal.

Terry-ism's

Happy 2009 Friends!!

So I have to share a couple random but funny quotes from my husband that he said yesterday that just made me laugh. He really never disappoints when it comes to this kind of stuff.

- We are getting ready to leave and he is putting on his coat. He heads to the door completly straight faced and without any expression and says, "Damn, It is good to be a gangsta." Yes, because when I think "Gangsta" I think Terry.

- We were talking about cats when Terry says "I don't like Persian Cats. They are like the douchebags of the cat world." (sorry if you have a persian)
