Think, Think, Think......

So another blog post has been lost to the black hole of my memory.

I tend to do my "best" thinking in the car on my way to and from work as well as in the shower. I like to call them my thinking spots. I will think of topics I want to post about on my blog, but don't write them down as I am not in the position to do so. Of course I say everytime...I will remember it this time, this one is good I won't be able to forget it....and then it vanishes - never to be thought of again.

Many a decent blog ideas has been lost to this black hole. It is frustrating b/c like today I had one ready to go. In my head I thought of the catchy title, the story, and even managed to throw in a couple cute quips. Now, I sit in front of my computer at work ready to blog (like many days) and I am sitting here with nothing.

This isn't called getting old is it?!?!

I hope one day that these topics will come back to me and I will be able to write them down, but until then I guess this will have to do.

  1. I find I have that same kind of problem with music. I will either hear a song, or read about a band and think I like or might like this group. Then when I sit down at a computer or even go into a cd store I sit there dumbfounded wondering what was the name of that band that I wanted to check out. Sometimes I figure it out, usually I just start looking for a different band and it pops into my head. Other times I cannot figure it out for the life of me. I don't think that it is an age thing since it used to happen to me when I was in high school too. Don't know what causes it. I would probably have the same problem as you but I haven't blogged at all. I leave that to my wife.

  3. This happens to me all the time, more than I would like to admit. Sometimes, I will remember this fantastic blog topic as I'm reading someone else's writing about it. And then I don't want to look like I've copied off them, especially if I know they read my blog, so I just leave an addendum, of sorts, to their post in their comments section. It's usually a very lengthy, opinionated and all-around inappropriate comment that I probably should've just kept to myself or my own blog. And this very comment is headed in that direction, so...bye.

  4. I think this is caused by years of MTV and videogames. You young wipper-snappers have it so easy with all your ADD-inducing technology!

Seriously though, I do think that it stems from something of the sort. People back in the day used to read all the time or listen to the radio if anything, and they don't forget things until they're older. So I think because we don't engage in brain-exercising activities to the extent that our grandparents did, that it's occurring earlier and earlier.

  5. I keep a list of blog topics in the "stickies" program on my mac. It helps.
