Fish Can Drown

~~~~~
Um...really?!?! Which ones, the really stupid fish? Or maybe they cover each others gills.
I really did not know this.
  1. UPDATE: I had to google this out of curiosity.
    Fish drowning occurs when there is not enough oxygen in the water.
    Under the right conditions (or in this case, the wrong conditions) a fish can actually drown just as surely as a human can. Drowning is caused by suffocation in a body of water, it is accurate to say a fish that is starved of oxygen while in the water has in fact drowned.
    Fish breathe by taking in oxygen from the water and if the body of water they are living has a depleted oxygen supply, then the fish must either move to a new, oxygen rich area, or drown.
  2. I appreciate your updated comment because that one really confused me.
    I mean, who knew that fish could drown.
  3. yes, I did feel this one required just a bit more information.
    But seriously, what a way for a fish to die. "Oh man Wally, did you hear about how Tila died?" "Yeah, She drowned. I mean really, what a stupid way to go - we are fish for crying out loud." "Yeah, but she was never the brightest bass in the sea."
  4. Wow, that's like saying that birds can die from too many trees in their flight route. Just weird.
