Don't Hate Me!

(Sebastian and Belle cuddling/sleeping on the couch)

Poor Kitty!

So today I took our precious little 6 ½ month old kitten Belle in to get spayed this morning. She was so sad and crying this morning in her cage as I drove her to the vet. I strongly believe in getting your cats spayed or neutered (Thanks Bob Barker!) but I hate leaving my little girl at the vet to go through this! I hope it doesn’t take long for her to feel better.

On top of that, I also pissed my other cat off (Sebastian aka Fatty McFatty!) this morning. Belle couldn’t eat anything after 10 pm so I got rid of all their food last night. From 6 am till I left at 8 am this morning all I hear is fatty crying b/c he was hungry. I did give him his food back before I left, but he was not a happy cat! I hope both my cats don’t hate me – I feel sad and like a very bad “mom” today :(

I read that cats forget easily but I don’t know if I believe that – I think they just choose to ignore you. But today I hope they forget, especially Belle. She will be getting LOTS of love this weekend!

Maiden Name VS Married Name

So here it is – some questions with my name change:

How long do I wait before I start using my new married name at work? My email hasn’t changed yet, but I did change my signature on my email to read my new name. I haven’t changed my work voicemail and when people call me I still refer to myself as my maiden name. I have referred to myself in meetings with my new name. Do I wait to all the HR papers are finalized or do I start now….I don’t know what to do? How do I let people know I am the same person? I have been here for over 2 ½ years so I am unsure of making the transition to my new name! Also, I plan events and a majority of my contacts I only talk to on a yearly basis, should I send emails out to them letting them know of the change? And how about this – how long can I continue to use my maiden name before it just seems weird?

Any suggestions would be a great help!!

The Verdict is in!

About a year ago in the town I live we got a Qdoba Mexican Grill and about a year later we got a Chipotle. Now for those who may not know both these restaurants are fairly similar. They are both places that serve huge ass burritos. You go in and it is like the Subway of burritos and you basically pick what you want on these burritos.

Now I had never eaten at either of these places until they were moved to BG and it is somewhat strange that we would have both places in a small town like ours – but I won’t complain! I have heard that Chipotle is excellent but over the past year I had grown rather comfortable with Qdoba, but I am always ready to give a fair shot and see which place I enjoy more. So about a week ago I tried Chipotle for the first time. I thought it was good, the salsa I tried had a nice kick but I have to be honest, I didn’t think it was better than Qdoba. I don’t know if it is because of actual taste, just becoming familiar with a certain place, the atmosphere of Qdoba was a lot quieter than Chipotle, maybe I felt like I was cheating on my Qdoba, or maybe I just didn’t want to buy into the hype of Chipotle. I don’t know – but to me my heart is with Qdoba. Now I am not saying by any means that Chipotle was bad, I thought it was good infact I would eat there again! But I like the options, atmosphere and taste of Qdoba more so than that of Chipotle – just my personal preference! On the other hand, Belle prefers Chipotle (but I think it is because of the paper bags, hehehe)!

Have you ever eaten at either? Which do you prefer?

You can check out both the websites above, Chipotle’s is really fun!

YUM!

I had my first Hot Apple Cider from Starbucks of the season!

I am SO excited, I love hot apple cider - ecspecially on mornings like today when it was chilly! I splurged today, but on weekends I love buying cider from the store and heating it up and adding cinnimon and some honey - so good!

I LOVE fall!!!

On the Hunt for a Bed!

So T & I are looking at getting a new bed. My parents know of a place were we can get a great Amish made bed frame for VERY reasonable priced. We are looking to get a canopy bed, T loves them!

However, we think we want to upgrade from a queen to a King. Do you know of any good places in the T-Town, BG, and/or Findlay area that has good beds for a reasonable price? Or any places that have that "same as cash" till 2020 (or whatever it is)? We are not in a hurry, just browsing right now but as we are not home owners and have never bought furniture other than our entertainment center from Wal-Mart we need a little direction!! :-)

Excuse me?????

I DON'T LIKE SEEING THIS!!!!

I found this on Popsugar and this is Cindy Crawford’s 5 year old daughter and she is posing like this for pictures?!?!?! HELL NO!!! She is FIVE! Maybe I am a prude or something, but a 5 year old does not need to be posing like this. Click Here for the article and all the pictures. Not all the pictures are as bad, but I still have a problem with young children being put out in the public’s eye too early or just growing up too early. I mean we all played dress up and I am sure there are pictures of me dressed up and posing but I would have never known to or even thought to pose like this! But in today’s society sex and sexuality is out there more and more and kids are acting more grown up at a much much earlier age. It scares me because I would like to have kids someday and I don’t want to shelter them from the world but I don’t want them to be exposed to things that are way too old for them either – I just want them to grow up and have time to be kids!!! (UGH)

Ok back to the picture. I just think this is a sexually suggestive pose that no child should be doing. If you are 18 and over then whatever – other than that you are too young! I don’t care her mom is a super model and she posed like that – it is not appropriate. How are you teaching your kids to act and what kind of people are you exposing your children too?

What do you think?

Question of the Day?

Will you be a “Jackass” this weekend?

This weekend the second Jackass Movie will be released. I think people either hate these movies or love them! I am sorry to admit that I love them….I know – it’s a thing! I don’t know what it is – it can be very disgusting at times and everything they do is stupid, yet I am strangely drawn to watch! So I don’t know if I will go this weekend, but sometime in the next couple weeks I will be sitting in the comfy movie theater watching a bunch of grown men act like jackasses – it should be a good time!

What are your thoughts, will you see this movie?

P.S. Johnny is HOTT!!!

We're Married!!!!

Please welcome Mr. & Mrs. H.!!!!!

So I have been trying to figure out what to say all day on my blog about the wedding this weekend. I started writing and before you know it I have written over a page! I just can’t stop thinking about this weekend and I keep remembering other things that I loved about the past weekend!!! So basically it comes down to the following……I loved every moment of this entire weekend! I had a great time and I am so happy to finally be married to the man I love! I feel so blessed to have all our family and friends there with us as well as the many wishes we have received over the last week! It is amazing how much love I/we have felt recently! It is actually overwhelming and we appreciate it so much!!

The weekend itself couldn’t have gone better. Considering a lot of my bridesmaids didn’t know each other and didn’t know Terry’s groomsmen everyone got along so well! The whole weekend was just focused on being relaxed, having a great time with family and friends and just having the love of those around us! ….. Oh, I just feel so lucky!

The night before the ceremony everyone who was in town gathered together at the hotel Pub for drinks! This was such a great time! We drank (I got a little tipsy), talked, listen to music and just had a blast!!! It was so much fun! Of course I had to leave at 11:50 pm so I wouldn’t see T. on our “wedding” day!!!! But the night was a great kick-off to the weekend and gave everyone a chance to get to know each other a little more!

It was also so great to see Terry before the ceremony. We had a moment with just the two of us in the church were we got to just hold each other and breathe before everything began! I loved taking pictures before the ceremony because everyone was just relaxed and no one felt rushed! Even though we started later than we wanted b/c T & his men had to go play on the McDonalds train by the hotel….LOL!!! Everything ran smoothly and on time! The only thing that happened and the one thing I can’t remember was I couldn’t make it through my vows. I cried like a baby and now I can’t even remember what I said. It was “ I Jennifer, take you Terry, to be my lawful Husband……..cry cry cry cry….” I don’t even know if I said what the priest told me to say, LOL!!! My photographers better photoshop the snot and tears that were all over my face the rest of the ceremony! (P.S. I was surprised how short the ceremony was for a Catholic Church. We didn’t do the mass but it went a lot faster than we thought it would!!)

The reception was lovely and everything we wanted….I really hope everyone had a great time, I know I did! I hope people drank a lot too so I didn’t seem like I was acting too crazy - I didn’t drink because I was on an emotional high and sweating in my 20 pound dress but I still managed to act like I had thrown a few back :D I danced most of the night with my family and friends and tried to talk to everyone – P.S. again. that is the hardest part and what I feel the worst about, not being able to spend as much time with people as I would have liked :(

The food was great all weekend – in fact I felt like all we did was eat the entire weekend! I love food, but I can not even think about food anymore! Kylee, now I know how you felt when you came home before going to MX and you said all you did was eat – UGH!!!! But the food was great! We had a family style Amish meal at an Amish Restaurant back home. There was SO much food they kept passing to us. Chicken, ham, roastbeef, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, buttered noodles, corn, pie – oh we were all in a food coma!!!! At the reception we had chicken breast with a new orleans sauce on the side, shredded pork with two sauces, red beans and rice, red skin potatoes, ziti, green beans, corn bread and rolls, and of course YUMMY cake!!! (we have so much cake left!!!) The food was so delicious however my dress started getting tighter after the first two bites or so…..but it was worth it!!!

I just can’t get over the fact that it is over. There is a sense of relief now that we are married and the planning is done but also I would love to have that day last forever because it was wonderful!!! I feel like I experienced every moment to its fullest and couldn’t have asked for anything better!

I am so thankful to everyone but especially my parents. We couldn’t have had such a wonderful and perfect day without them! Words can never say how thankful and appreciative we are for EVERYTHING they have done! We love you SO much and are so grateful to have parents in my life who will support the decisions I make and be there by my side. I have said this so much but I feel so blessed to have parents and a sister who have taken Terry in with open arms and have showed him so much love and acceptance. In reverse I am also blessed to have a husband who loves my family so much and will be there for them whenever they need him. I am truly lucky to have the people I love and care about the most love and care for each other! Thank you thank you thank you….I love you SO much!!!

….Ok need to stop, could get more emotional…..

So I probably need to stop as I could sit here another 4 hours and find things to write about!!! This was the most condensed version of the wedding I could write, but no worries – I will be writing everything down in a journal so I will never forget this wonderful time!

Thanks again for the lovely wedding wishes and to those who came I hope you enjoyed yourself, it was so nice to have you take part in this weekend!

I will try to limit my wedding talk on my blogs now, but I am sure a few more blogs may pop up ;-)

By the way, I had the most gorgeous and kindest bridesmaids ever! I am truly blessed in my life!

I AM GETTING MARRIED!

So my blogging will be slightly limited this weekend as I am GETTING MARRIED!!!!

I am still going to keep you updated on the details of the weekend early next week (well not all the details!!!)

To anyone attending be careful if traveling!

I can't wait to make my first blog as a married women - I am so excited that I am marrying my best friend this weekend and so thankful that I have some one that makes me feel beautiful, content, excited and happy everyday!

........
Before I say goodbye to the Blog for a few days here is the first story of the "weekend". T & I went to pick up his tuxedo at After Hours tonight after work. We got up there and they gave him his tux to try on - well he asked to try it on before we left and good thing! He put the tux on and the pants were a size 44!!!! T is a 36 - HAHAHAHAHA I couldn't help it, I was laughing so hard, his pants were half way down his thighs. Of course T didn't find this as amusing. Well they ended finding a 36 and with a quick, slightly too short hem, the pants were in our hands and heading back home! They will work for the day :D I called my parents and I guess my dad didn't have any better luck at his After Hours pick up! His coat was WAY too long, the sleeves were way past his hands and his pants were 3 inches too short!!! LOL!!! I can just see my dad - it is like a funny sketch comedy show! They will fix it and get them back to dad friday and all will be well. The rest of the groomsmen go in tomorrow to get their tuxedos - I guess we will see what happens with them!

I laugh because it doesn't take as much energy as getting pissed. But I must say that I have a slight disappointment with these mistakes. I understand mistakes will be made and I am happy they are fixing them, I don't understand how businesses like Davids Bridal and After Hours can make so many mistakes (we have had mistakes with davids as well) and yet their business is booming? It is crazy and interesting!

Ok, fair well my fellow bloggers! I will talk to you on the flip side :-)

Wedding Kit Items

So being an event coordinator I already have an "event" kit I take with me to most of my events. It has a sewing kit, scissors, pins, pens, tape, ect.... but more items for corporate type of event! For my wedding emergency kit I have also got things like a tide pen, pepto bismoth, tums, and a few other odds and ends. Do you have any suggestions for what should be included in this kit...any secret tid bits if you will? Just let me know if you can think of MUST HAVE items for the wedding kit!!!

My Brain is out of Space!

As I complete many of the forms and stuff I need to fill out to change my name, add T. to my policies and just become officially a married person I noticed how many numbers/passwords we are forced to memorize in our life! You have your basics being your social security number, your phone number (phones in most cases), phone numbers of family, your work numbers, addresses, date of birth, the date of birth of those important people around you, license number, license plate, your bank account/s. But then you run into the other passwords/numbers you have to remember: the three codes you need to get onto your work computer in the morning (that change every 4 months), your atm/debit codes, your personal email passwords, your work/personal phone voicemail passwords, online banking passwords, ebay…and do you shop online???? Well then you may have a bunch of store passwords to remember! I am also OCD and do things a certain amount of times (but I will never forget those numbers)!!!

Now some people use the same password for all their stuff and that’s cool, but since I am afraid of people taking all my shit I use variations of certain “root” passwords for everything. Safer, maybe…..more to remember – YES! I hope I never loose my memory or mind ….. no one will be able to get into any of my things!

With all these numbers/passwords in my memory no wonder I can’t remember to do the simplest of tasks – my brain is full!

Pop tarts - not convenient enough for some?!?!

I am confused! My sister and I were talking about a new product they have in stores that confuses us! Go-Tarts (click here ) They are slightly smaller versions of pop-tarts for people on the go…..what???? I thought pop tarts were pretty travel friendly being a single, easy to hold in one hand, pastry and all!!! I have never heard of someone fumbling around while eating their pop-tarts wishing they had something more manageable in their hands…nah HAND! What makes these go tarts so much more travel friendly? Please tell me as I am not getting it!

I think these are yet ANOTHER example of products going too far! They will charge more for less poptarts and they are basically the same thing - just cut in half and a little thicker! Besides, these go-tart things only come in 3 flavors unlike the many many flavors of pop tarts!

I will stick with my delicious pop tarts and try to manage eating my pop tarts and performing my daily tasks at the same time….(a couple shakes of the head, a roll of the eyes and a sigh)

Is there anything better?

This sunday T & I went to the Black Swamp to eat and look around! The whole weekend all I could think about was the delicious kettle corn! Once a year I start to get that undeniable craving for the sweet and salty deliciousness that is kettle corn! And I don't think anyone makes it better then the people at the black swamp!

So after T&I shared a philly steak, the cajun sampler and freshly squeezed lemonade we made our trek through the art on our way to what would end our journey - the kettle corn booth! We bought the largest bag we could and munched on it all the way to our car, and then in our car, and on our couch! We are barely a 1/3 of the way through our bag but I am not yet sick of this stuff! It was nice and warm yesterday (just out of the kettle) and the perfect blend of salt and sweet - OH YUM!!!! To me this once a year treat is wonderful! I feel like a bear who is about to hibernate. I eat and eat all this kettle corn once a year so that my body will be satisfied until the following year!

To me, there is nothing more divine then fresh kettle corn!!!!

The Weather this Weekend....

The weather outlook this weekend is looking PERFECT!!!

High 78
20% chance of rain
Fair skys
100% chance of love (hehehe)

Actually, it doesn't matter what the weather is like.....T & I are getting married so it will be BEAUTIFUL & PERFECT no matter what!!!!

YAY!!!
(5 more days!!!)

A Good Time at the Black Swamp!

Today kicks off on of my favorite weekends in BG – the Black Swamp Arts Festival!!! I love this festival! There is always good food (fair food but tons better). My favorite is the Cajun booth. I love to get the mix plate and T and I share it! It is red beans and rice, crawfish etouffe, gator bites – YUM!!! They also have a good philly sandwich and my favorite – kettle corn!!!!

A lot of local and not local arts vendors come in to display and sell their items over the weekend. There are a lot of beautiful things! Jewelry, paintings, pottery, everything!!! There is plenty to do with your kids and of course they always bring in a few, not so famous anymore, bands to play over the weekend! It is just an all around good time!

The weather this weekend looks pretty good! Beautiful tonight, mid 70’s in the evening, Saturday mid to low 70’s with a chance of a thunderstorm, Sunday cool with a few showers!! Overall, not too bad!

So hopefully some of you in the area will be able to make it down to my town for a very lovely weekend!!

Wedding Update: Part 2

So, most of the stuff seems to be done - just a lot of little things right now!

We talked to the photographer this week! I am REALLY excited about them. They are a young husband and wife couple and they do a great job with pics! They are with us ALL day and they are professional, detailed and ON TIME as well as very fun! (That is why I love them. I love details and being on time and of course FUN)

We also talked to the DJ. Poor guy has to deal with our strange but fun style in music. I doubt he has ever played "Run to the Hills" by Iron Maiden or "Doctor’n the Tardis" from Dr. Who at a wedding before! We like to make it interesting for our guests LOL. (Don’t worry M & K, there will be plenty of dance music and singing in your chair music as well!)

I talked to the caterer yesterday as well and gave them our count. We invited apprx. 240 and about 115 are coming – WOW! Most of T’s family lives out of state, namely AZ & FL, so we knew most of them would not be attending. That is fine, I like the idea of a smaller wedding/reception – it is more along the lines of what we wanted! I also got a pleasant surprise when the Event Manager at the hall told us we could have the “BIG” room! It isn’t that much bigger then the room we had before, it is just laid out differently and it was the room I wanted from the beginning – but b/c we knew we would have under 200 guests we had to take the smaller room! It may be a little spread out, but it won’t look empty or anything – it is PERFECT!!!!

I also went this last weekend to pick up my dress! I LOVE my dress! It is very Cinderella like. I never thought I would want to wear anything like this dress as it is so beyond girly – but I fell in love with it from the moment I put it on! I have a very long and pretty train which means I have a huge bussel in the back of my dress – yes baby got back!!! I actually have 11 bussels. CRAZY!

My fabulous parents have also been doing a lot of projects at home! Stuffing the favor bags with tissue paper, printing menus, printing name cards, and random odd and end jobs they are helping with! They have been a HUGE help with this entire wedding and T & I are SO grateful!!! We couldn’t have done any of this with out them!!

This weekend my sis and I are making programs and doing any last minute shopping/projects that we may run across! It should be a good time!

Overall, even though this process has been emotional and time consuming I know it will all be worth it! We are so excited to have (almost) all our closest friends and family there to share in this wonderful time in T & my life! It is amazing!!!

I am sure there will be more to come....

Wedding Update: Part 1

So I was going to stay away from talking too much about our upcoming wedding b/c I didn’t want to bore people with the details and my random lovey dovey comments….but as the saying goes – I am the Bride and will do what I want (and it IS my blog)!!! Hehehe

So basically the wedding is 9 days away and I have been overwhelmed with a variety of emotions! I am SO happy, smiling ALL the time, giggling like a 13 year old girl with a crush for no reason at all, my stomach wants to throw up about 85% of the day, I feel like I could cry if anything goes wrong….just SO many emotions! AND I LOVE IT!!! I love these different feelings because not one of them is a feeling of doubt or concern; they are all feelings of excitement and of course a little anxiety! After six years together I know this is right and I can’t wait to be Mrs. H.!!!! I get worried about the details but I also remember at the end of the day NONE of this matters b/c I am marrying the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. (see, I told you random lovey dovey comments – I can’t help it!) T. on the other hand is as cool as an ice cream cake! He is excited but more ready for the day to be here so the planning can stop! He is not a planner at all, I am! So T's feelings right now are basically the same as any other day. I am the nut job!

I do think all of these feelings over the past 3 weeks have made me sick! Not figuratively but literally! Yesterday I woke up with a sore throat and today I woke up with a head cold and a sore throat…YUCK! I think it is my body telling me to calm down and to take it easy! So I am going to listen. I don’t want to be sick on our wedding day – not fun!!

So sleep and over the counter cold medicine – here I come!!

more updates to come.......

Question of the Day?

Question of the Day? What will be on your TV this fall?

I can’t hide it anymore, I am so excited for the coming months! This is my favorite time of the year! I love the season of fall, it is my favorite! It could stay fall all-year round and I would be happy! With fall comes cooler nights, sweatshirts, changing colors, snuggling and new TV programming!!!!

I can’t wait for the new TV line up, it is the best! (well it isn’t the BEST thing out there but it is pretty darn close) So this last Saturday we watched a sneak peak of the NBC Fall Line-up and besides all the previews for the new old and old shows premiering it also showed a lot of clips from one of the best shows out there – The Office! I just got more and more pumped as they previewed shows that I can’t wait to see and then made fun of the ones we know will tank!

Here are the returning shows I can’t wait to watch this season:
Smallville
The Office
My Name is Earl
Grey’s Anatomy
Desperate Housewives – Kinda. Last season wasn’t great so I am not overly excited this season, but will watch it
Dr. Who
Battlestar Galactica (It is a T. & I thing)
CSI – even though it is competing with Grey’s anatomy, I have DVR
Meerkat Manor
House
Law and Order - SVU
Supernatural
One Tree Hill - I know I know
ER – they are bringing in John Stamos. Every season I give it a try. Sometimes it looses my attention, sometimes we watch…who knows!

New Shows I am really excited to see:
Rachael Ray’s talk show
Till Death
Heros
Twenty Good Years
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip – However, I do think this show is too hyped and may not be that great even with the fantastic cast. I will watch it but I am not sure about it.

I also think there are about 10 shows that will tank big time and not make it out of October – LOL! For a list of most of the new shows premiering this fall click here. Thursday's are by far our busiest night of TV. I don't even think DVR is going to be able to record everything we want to watch - oh well!!

So grap your remote, get your favorite blankets and cuddle up in the coming weeks as all the new shows premier - FALL IS HERE!

So once again, what are your favorite new and old shows that will be premiering this fall?

Have a Great Weekend!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! My blogging may be limited Saturday and Sunday! My sister and I are heading home for our final dress fittings and to do some things for the wedding! We will be back Sunday night in an attempt to beat some of the holiday traveling that will take place on Monday.

I hope everyone has a great long weekend! Be VERY safe if you are traveling!

Reason #1,263

Reason #1,263 on why I love T. so VERY much! His choice of music!

Last night I had T. pick the music he wanted to hear played at the wedding. T. loves rock and metal music. I too am a huge fan, but the music is harder to dance too then lets say the music of the 80’s (what I want to hear)!!!! So we are both getting lists of our favorite songs to give to the DJ for him to play if he wants! I read T’s list this morning and here are just a few songs he wants played at the wedding:

Run to the Hills – Iron Maiden
Paradise City – GNR
Tiny Bubbles – Don Ho
Crazy – Patsy Cline
Purple Rain – Prince
Say you will be There – Spice Girls (his secret obsession)
Where it’s At – Beck
Sea of Love – The Honeydrippers
Breaking the Law – Judas Priest

(I love him!!)

Ok, so even if you don’t recognize all these songs, let me just say this…VERY DIVERSE MUSIC! This long haired, t-shirt wearing man I am marrying surprises me everyday, and I love it!!! Our DJ is going to be in for an interesting evening :-)

P.S. T. loves Pink Floyd and we will have a Pink Floyd song "Young Lust" played during the garter toss. The part of the lyrics being played during this part "Ooooo I need a dirty woman Ooooo I need a dirty girl." HAHAHA - I love him!

I Need a License

Today T & I get our marriage license! YAY! We are SO excited! I am leaving work a few hours early today so we can get the license on T’s lunch break. This sounds like it couldn’t be simpler. $40 cash, a valid driver’s license, fill out an application – SWEET! Also on the agenda this afternoon – go get the programs printed (thanks again K), make the final payment to the photographer, finalize the music list and get ready for our trip home this weekend! Oh, and a trip at some point to Starbucks to help with this being tired thing!

T.I.R.E.D.

(Sebastian and Belle - making their blog debut)

I am exhausted today! I am glad I am getting off early today (next blog). This is a summary of why I am so tired….

Overall, just tired. Not sleeping as much. Down to the final 15 days before the wedding. Went to bed at 10pm last night. Was sleeping like a baby. Then woke up at 12:45am because my legs were itching REALLY bad. Hate the Venus sensitive skin razor! Put powder on my legs and started to feel better. Now I can’t go back to sleep. Took a sinus infection pill in the evening, must be keeping me awake. Just laying in bed wide awake. Then the mind starts to think and wonder. UGH!! Finally fell asleep sometime after 3:30 am. Woke up to the alarm at 6:30 am. Now I am tired. Good thing it is Friday!

The Perfect Tan?

So I thought I would look into spray tanning for the wedding since I am running out of time to build a nice tan and I just don’t seem to have the time after work to spare 30 minutes to tan. (oh yeah, and tanning is bad) So I called a local tanning place because they do spray tanning. While I was talking to the lady I started getting REALLY excited. This is what she told me…

1. They said that apparently this stuff works with the chemicals in your body to give you the same color you would get if you were tanning and not that orange-ish color you could get with lotions and stuff! EXCELLENT

2. It is only $14.95 a visit but the first time you get a visit free so they can see how it will react! AWESOME! This is looking better

3. Then they said that it last about a week, so you only need to come in about once a week! SWEET! So basically I could get three appts. before the wedding for the price of two and look fabulous!

4. I asked how long it takes…5 minutes to spray 5-10 to dry she said! SIGN ME UP!!!

5. Finally, moments away from making an appt. I asked how it is applied, am I in a booth, do I need anything special…. “oh no” she said, “I will be in there and air brush your body for you.” HOLD THE BOAT!! WHAT??? I am very very self conscious and barley like showing too much skin in front of T. let alone a complete stranger! This ladies (and gentleman) may be the deal breaker. This sounds perfect but I don’t know if I can bring myself to stand almost naked (or naked if I choose) in front of someone I don’t know while they spray my body from head to toe. I may need to be drunk for this one!

So basically I don’t know what to do. The easy thing would be to get the spray tan but is it worth total humiliation three times to do it? I may rather be pale!

My Final Thoughts

This may be the last I talk about him b/c he doesn’t deserve my words at all. I have been staying away from reading anything associated with the case because I think it is all sick and sad. However, today I broke and read up on some articles and I kinda wished I hadn’t.

No matter what, John Mark Karr is a very sick man. Whether he said what he said because he was obsessed with JonBenet, because he was an accomplice in the murder, because he wanted fame/recognition or because he was just a sick asshole I don’t really care to know. This entire thing is disgusting and messed up. The thing I can’t stand is that there are these sicko’s out there that get off on little kids and will actual do stuff like this to kids. I know judgment will come to them one day when they die but for sick idiots like this I sometimes feel that speeding their death along wouldn’t be that bad of a thing.

I am warning you that if you haven’t read his emails all ready be careful. He is a VERY sick man and the excerpts from the e-mails made me feel very sick, disgusted and extremely sad.

On a Hunt for Makeup!

So I don’t normally wear makeup that often and when I do it is on the weekends and it is the same old powder, eye shadow, mascara, and lip gloss. This is good but it defiantly doesn’t make a big difference. Well for the wedding I want to buy some newer items. I am looking for a good foundation, blush and eyeliner (the pencil type). I am very fair skinned so I always have a hard time finding a foundation and blush I like. Also, since I normally don’t wear a lot of makeup I don’t want to be too extreme on the wedding day, I want a makeup that is very natural but that looks fabulous!! (does that make sense?) So I was wondering if anyone had a brand of foundation, blush and eyeliner that they loved? I am horrible with picking out brands and normally just pick what is on sale. So any help would be MOST appreciated :-)

Her Thoughts VS His Thoughts

This is cute, it is a forward T. sent me about the difference between men and women. It is SO true (except for maybe the part about a guy having a diary)!

HER DIARY:
I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment. Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed but he kept quiet and absent. I asked him what was wrong; he said nothing. I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry. On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say I love you too. When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there and watched T.V. He seemed distant and absent. Finally, I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to bed, and to my surprise he responded to my caress and we made love, but I still felt that he was distracted and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.

HIS DIARY:
Today, Atlanta lost, but at least I had sex.

Don't open your Mouth, unless Spoken too!

So this weekend my sister and I spent the day of my bachelorette party together. It was so nice spending quality time with my sis! We are really close for 8 years apart but since I have been living in BG since school started in 1998 are QT is limited. Now that she is up here we have a lot of “hanging out time” to catch up on!!

So we decided to look for wedding stuff (still not much luck) and new outfits for the B. party that evening. We headed to the Franklin Park Mall for the day! K. got a cute jean skirt and sexy brown shirt for under $30 – you go K. and I found a cute bride like shirt…not on sale but it is ok! We walked around the mall, had an auntie anne’s pretzel (both of us are regular with no salt and light cream cheese to dip) and shared a lemonade. We walked around the mall and had a GREAT time until some old fart decided to open his mouth and get all up in our business!

So I was walking into one of my all time favorite stores, Williams Sonoma, and called out to my sis “Hey Kristen, I am going in here.” To what was followed by the sounds of this guy saying “Hey Chris, your mom wants you to go into the store!” WTF….did you get that MOM! I am not no f’n mom NOR do I think I look old enough to be the mom of a women who is 18 and 5’8”!!!!!!!! Needless to say, that is defiantly a mood breaker. I did take it with a grain of salt because he is probably just old and crazy but the problems I have are (1) people getting their noses up in my shit where it doesn’t belong – MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS PEOPLE and (2) why mom? I would say sister or friend before MOM…she doesn’t look 5 and I don’t look 45! Idiot people in T-town!

So basically I didn’t feel like shopping in my favorite store anymore, the moment was gone and instead overtaken by the random comments of one person. Kristen and I later figured out that he probably had issues with his mom growing up and we both soon were over it, sorta! :-)

K and I had a really nice time together Saturday, it was the perfect beginning to my perfect evening :-) Thanks again K.!!

P.S. Normally I LOVE older people, I am a sucker for anything they say to me and I always want to hug them – of course except when I am driving behind them – but normally they are my favorite and can do no wrong. This guy, not normal!

I am an IDIOT!!!

THANK YOU KRISTEN!!!!!

I totally forgot to thank my dear and wonderful sister for planning my bachelorette party this weekend and for EVERYTHING she has done to help with the wedding!!! I am SUCH a bitch!!!

Kristen you have done such a great job and I appreciate more than words can say everything that you have done. You are such a wonderful sister and an even better friend! I love you SO much!

I hope you had a great time saturday and thank you for the entire night...it was fabulous!!

I can't wait to have you by my side during the wedding!

I LOVE YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

A cute thing happened on the way to buying a Tuxedo!

So sunday T. and I headed to Toledo again to order the FINAL tuxedo in the bridal party. His best man has not been able to get to a tux shop and there isn't one in his town. So instead we finally got his measurements over the phone sunday morning and went up to the tux shop to order his tuxedo! It was so easy - we just went in, gave the lady the measurements, payed a $20 down payment, got a receipt and done! Well as we were getting ready to leave the lady working there looked at T. and me and said the following:

Please note, there was one other couple in the store at the time working with someone else to get their tuxedos...

"You know, you two are a really cute couple. I am not just saying that (voice lowers to a whisper, quickly looks at the other couple) I don't say that to everone who comes in here...but the two of you are really really cute."

"Oh, well thank you" T & I say with a smile and a laugh

"Seriously, I hope you have a wonderful wedding and good luck with everything!"

I know it sounds weird, but it REALLY made T. & my day to hear that. When she told us we were the cutest couple in the entire world, nah, universe (hehehehe) I thought, how sweet of her! And the other couple was really cute looking, but we must have that special something (we are madly in love) that makes us so damn cute!! You know her comment totally went to my head, LOL!!!!

Seriously, thank you girl at the Tuxedo shop - you totally made our day!!! It is always nice to hear something like that from a complete stranger. It is better than other comments made by complete strangers (blog to come soon).

It's My Party and I Will be Drunk if I Want Too!

So this Saturday was my bachelorette party. It was a nice time. I did feel like I was the only one drinking! I got a really really REALLY good buzz going but not so much that I was sick or felt like shit the next day – PERFECT! It seemed like half my friends were drinking drinking and half were just casually drinking. It was kinda funny to see people who I know can throw back just take it easy….WTF, I know you can drink :-) hehehe (I kid I kid) Honestly, most of the people who came only new one or two people in the group so there may have been that intimidation to not drink and act a fool in front of people they don’t know – who knows! I just hope EVERYONE had a nice time, drinking or not! I know I had a nice time! It was the first time in a really long time that I could hangout with the people I care about and just let loose and relax and have fun! So if that is what a bacelorette party is suppose to be then MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

So anywho, the night went as so:

We went to a great Mexican restaurant for margaritas and dinner. I found a new favorite margarita…peach, it was SO good! Sarah (turtleparade) made a special appearance and took a picture of the group for me! Thanks S. that was SO nice of you :-)

After dinner we went to a comedy club. The comedy club was pretty cool. The MC for the evening – poor guy – looked like Steve-o from jackass and reminded my of Jay Mohr b/c his act sucked! Well, that is harsh, but he just didn’t look comfortable on stage and his jokes, well sucked! But he is just the MC, so it was all good! My favorite was the first comedian of the night. HE WAS AWESOME! I loved him. He had a great delivery and was SO funny! The second guy had a nerd, stoner, uni-bomber (sp.) shtick thing going on. Weird, but he was funny as well. The headliner who has been on comedy central and mad TV started out funny then kinda went down hill. I would have rather had the first comedian headline :D But I can’t complain, it was what I wanted and I thought overall it was a really good time and I had a lot of fun!!!

We then went out for one more drink of the evening to end the night. Well actually it ended up being 3 people sharing 2 pitchers and me having a drink of Malibu Rum and pineapple juice. I think maybe a few people were spent by this point and were tired of seeing me act like a giant goof and maybe were ready to call it a night…laughter will wear you out! A guy from a group who was celebrating a bachelor party bought me a shot while we were out. It was a lemon drop – YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE vodka (I am a rum & tequila girl). And out of all the ways to drink vodka, lemon drops are at the bottom of my list. So I drank it b/c etiquette states if you are given a drink and it is for good luck you have to drink it…at least that is my etiquette. So I did, but it was horrible. (I am quivering right now) It made my eyes water, my lips pucker and me gag! But it is all good!

The next morning my friend April gave me cupcakes she had made with penis candles on them! They were delicious and a great after drinking breakfast!!! (The cupcakes, not the penis candles, hehehe)

So overall it was a really good night! I really hope everyone enjoyed themselves b/c I know I did! I bet a lot of these people will be more relaxed at the wedding and I hope they will let loose and have a great time!!! THANK YOU to everyone who went and for the cute gifts, I loved everything about the evening!

19 days till the wedding - now down to business!!!

I will be emailing some pics to some people later this week!

P.S. I hope I wasn't too loud and obnoxious when I was drinking? I was hoping more people would get drunk so I would appear normal!!!

1 Day Till My Bachelorette Party!

So my Bachelorette Party is this weekend – YAY! I am REALLY excited! I am feeling slightly under the weather, but am resting today so I will be better Saturday night!

We are doing a nice, simple night with the girls! We are going to dinner at a local Mexican Restaurant to feast on chips, salsa, Mexican food and of course margaritas! We will then I guess play some games or something….I have NO idea my sister is planning everything! And then head over to a local comedy club for the rest of the evening! I guess the guy performing is pretty funny and done some comedy central shows and stuff. I know it will be a great night! It isn’t the traditional Bachelorette Party evening but it is what I want and I am the Bride ;-) I wanted a nice night with my friends!

I AM SO EXCITED :-)

No Luck, Try Again Later!

So after work I decided to head out and find some misc. wedding items I need. Here are some of the things I am looking for:

1. Cute, flater (1" or less) shoes
2. A bracelet to go with my necklace
3. A very very small stud earring for the peircing on the top of my ear
4. Cute Ivory or wine colored bags for bridesmaid gifts (or at this point anything cute)
5. An outfit for this weekend (bachlorette Party)
6. An outfit for the rehearsal Dinner
7. Gifts for our parents
8. Some undergarments :-)
(There is more I need, but these were the items on my list I went looking for!)

So I decided I would hit P'burg area and then later this week head up to Dillards/T. Town for the remaining items! I went to kohls and found the stud earing I wanted and a cute bracelet (still undecided if I want to wear it, have to see it with the dress - but it was only $12, so it is all good!) I didn't find anything else I wanted but thought I was off to a great start. Then I headed to Target and surprisingly I didn't find anything at least on my list that I wanted. I was kinda disappointed, I thought I would find at least some of the things! So I headed just down the way to payless. My dress is SO long, I am not graceful and T and I are the same height that I just wanted a cute flatter shoe....NOTHING!!! Even their dyeable shoes were all 2 " or more and not easy to walk in at that! So I head to shoe carnival. I found a cute, champaign colored shoe with an inch or so heel - but of course they don't make it past an 8.5! So for us with boat feet we are S.O.L. Then for shits and giggles and b/c I was there I headed to the last two places in this strip plaza - Fashion Bug and The Dressbarn - (yeah right) 2 minutes later from each I was done! My feet hurt, it was 6:30 and I was frustrated!

Not all hope is lost as I will be heading to Dillards and infact I may actually have to hit the big mall to find these items, so I am still VERY positive I will find what I want. But I hate shopping anyways so to find only a stud earing and a bracelet you kinda like is a little annoying!

I did however have a highlight to my evening! I went to Giant Eagle's gas station and my parents shop at Giant Eagle but don't have a gas station near them to use the gas rewards so I went to get gas and I saved....are you ready??? $1.40 per gallon!!!!!!!!!!! HELL YEAH! It cost me $1.18 per gallon and to fill my tank was only $15! I LOVE IT!!! I highly suggest shopping at a place that has gas rewards!

If you have any suggestions on places where I can find items on my list, please let me know!! I am not much of a shopper and usually only go to the same few places over and over! But for the wedding, I will try anywhere :-)

Some of my Favorite Songs

Here are some of my favorite "newer" songs that I have heard on the radio recently that I can't get enough of!

1. Muse - Knights of Cydonia
2. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Tell me Baby
3. Killer's - When You Were Young
4. Gnarles Barkley - Crazy
5. Wolfmother - Women

Oh, I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the Dixie Chicks newer song (making nice or something like that) - I know it was released awhile ago but I heard it for the first time a couple weeks ago and really want that CD!!! Dixie Chicks have never let me down with their music - I love it all!

Any newer songs out that you love to listen too?

Question of the Day?

Question of the Day....What is your favorite place to get coffee and what is your drink of choice?

(If you don't drink coffee, which place do you like for things like tea, hot chocolate, frozen drinks...ect)

I know not everyone likes coffee, but many many people do and by george there are alot of options out there - Starbucks, Panera, Tim Hortons, Beaners, your local gas station, local coffee shops and more! Well I have had my fair share of coffee at each of these places and even though I can pretty much drink a latte from any of these places I do have a favorite!

Starbucks! It has a nice strong coffee flavor (not too sweet not too bitter) I love it!! I usually only get one of three things depending on the time of year. The all year long drink is a vanilla latte with skim milk...yum-o! In the summer I get the same drink just over ice and soon, once fall hits, I am all about hot apple cider - not coffee but delicious!!! I also have to go get coffee from the local gas station (usualy a Shell) about once every month or so. There is something about gas station coffee I really love!

This posting is in honor of our Beaners at work finally being reopened after the summer off (YAY M.) and our first short non-fat vanilla latte of the semester!

My Favorite Pens

These are my all-time favorite pens. They are the Bic Pens, blue Ink, medium ball point. I LOVE THEM! They are not much to look at but they write great everytime and never clump. They are the perfect pen!!

I was just writing with mine and needed to express my feelings of joy and thanks to these wonderful writing tools!

Question of the Day?

So today I wanted something other than water but not pop, so I turned to ice tea! Refreshing and tastes wonderful!! As I was eating my lunch and drinking me tea my mind wondered, as it so often does, to all the ways people drink their tea! For example: I like hot tea with a little cream, sun tea, sweet tea, ice tea and lemonade, flavored teas....I think I just like tea! But I know some of my friends only like their tea a certain way!

So I thought I would raise the question, how do you like your tea?

And as a bonus, do you have any good recipies you would like to share for making any particular kind of tea?

Check your self!

So this weekend as I concluded opening week events and scheduled my, um, yearly visit to the DR (too much? – whatever) I realized that it was this time last year that we discovered a lump in my breast. Now it wasn’t cancer it was actually just a fluid filled sac, a cyst but the Doc gave it another name. I went to a few Dr’s to get multiple opinions and then had surgery about 6 weeks later to remove the lump and do a biopsy. It was an out patient surgery that only took 25-30 minutes (prep time was what sucked), but a little scary as I had never been under the knife before! I loved when they knocked me out except I didn’t even realize they had done it until I was passing out and I didn’t even get to count backwards…WTF, I wanted to count! It was more like, “we are going to give you a cocktail. Oh haha, fun! I want…. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.”

The lump felt like a junior mint (remember that episode of Seinfeld, haha) or a gel pill that was slightly rubbery and could move fairly easily under your fingers. Cancer lumps do not move as easily and are firm. You also could have other symptoms like actual changes in the look and feel of your breast, it varies. I tried to read up on all the possible situations just in case for some strange reason they were wrong. Some people may not have agreed with me reading all these things because sometimes you begin to freak yourself out, but I am glad I read up on it and that day I was pretty comfortable with the outcome of the surgery.

The reason I am sharing this is because I think everyone should take time and read up on the symptoms of breast cancer and be aware of what you need to look for! You should start giving yourself exams once or twice a month at different points during the month so you know how your breasts feel during your cycle. Don’t rely on your once a year Dr’s appt because I went to my Dr. a month and half before and they didn’t find anything. T. was actually the one who found it! Hey, it is something you can do with your significant other!!!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month but you should always be aware of the effects of breast cancer. Be proactive when it comes to this. Yeah, my thing wasn’t that big a deal and was very minor in the scheme of things but it made me think and during this process I discovered I should have been aware of this stuff long before a situation like this occurred and I should have been checking myself regularly. It is one of those moments in life where I think someone is telling you to stop and pay attention, don’t be so self-absorbed! I am a controller and want to have control of every situation, things need to be planned and go a certain way – but that’s not life, you can’t control/plan your life all the time – SHIT HAPPENS! So over the past year I have really focused on trying to let go, focus on myself and my family and friends, and remember what is important in my life. I am still not there, but working on it and glad this whole thing happened to me because I am more aware of who I am then I ever was before!

P.S. I digress, sorry – Women, check yourself! And men, check yourselves out too!!

Give me a break

A quote from Paris Hilton on her new album.....

"I, like, cry, when I listen to it, it's so good."

UUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHHH
What a freak'n idiot! I can not stand ANYTHING about her!

Teen Choice Awards

(Picture is from 2005 awards in honor of Summer Slam this last weekend)

I forgot to watch the Teen Choice Awards Last night!!! (Yeah, I wanted to watch)

Normally I don’t watch this, but it looked like a lot was going on this year! Jessica Simpson and Dane Cook were hosting, K-Fed performed, Britney announced her hubby when he performed, Johnny and Orlando were there and much more! So I am kinda bummed I missed it. I really hope they play it again, MTV always plays their awards like a million times over! If I could only see it for Johnny, to make fun of K-Fed and to make fun of Jessica I would be happy!

For a list of winners - Click here

To see K-Feds performance, click here

What I also missed last night:
- WWE Summer Slam (Guess I will find out tonight what happened)
- Girls Next Door (it is recorded)
- Platinum Weddings (A new sick show about people who spend hundred of thousands on weddings. Don’t like that they spend that much, but I always watch!)

Good Luck K!

Just a quick little note to my sister Kristen!

Have a GREAT first day of classes, you cute college girl you!

Let us ALL know how your first day goes :-)

One, Two, Three and Sore

In not only an effort to feel a little better about myself by the wedding but also to get back to the smaller size of my college days I have been working out. I have been trying to workout for sometime but I never seem to be able to stick with anything. I am a.d.d. and therefore lose intrest in things like biking or treadmills because I just get bored. I like lifting weights, but my body doesn't need weights - it needs cardio! I am too uncoordinated and not graceful at all (even after 9 years of dance and 7 years of basketball) to do routines that are too complicated. And it is hard to find a show on TV where the people aren't completly annoying!

Well until recently! Lately, I have been working out to a show on FitTV called all-star workouts. I originally DVR this show b/c I thought celebrities or something would be on it - that was a big NO! But I did find a show that I enjoy and makes you sore the next day! It is an hour long program and there seems to be at least 10 different workouts that play on the show in rotation. Now I do not do all the shows b/c some still require you to be coordinated but I have found 3 I really like and the girls who teach the show are not annoying AT ALL! It is a slow areboics aka LOTS of squats, a ballet strengthening class and a pilates/yoga. You will sweat, be sore but also feel REALLY good afterwards! Hopefully they can work miracles :-)

So if you are looking for a workout I suggest this series of workouts!

P.S. Meet Ellen, her workouts are my favorite!

She's alive!!!

So my sis is finally moved into the college life and I think she is ready to be more faithful to her blogging! (K.W. blog link on right) She has been crazy the last month packing and getting ready for college life! So I will once again plug to visit her blog on occasion when you get a chance! Of course she SHOULD be studying hard so may not get to it everyday *cough cough* but hopefully she will get to it more often now that she is settled! ;-)

Once again Welcome K.

USA all the Way!

I LOVE FRIDAYS!

Besides the fact it is the end of the work week, 90% of my favorite show are on TV on friday nights! It is so relaxing after a crazy week to watch some really really good TV and lay on the couch with T. and my cats watching TV and unwinding! I have to say lately the USA channel is becoming my favorite channel to watch! They have such GREAT shows!

Here is what I watch:

8-9 ~ Law and Order SVU

9-10 ~ Monk

10-11 ~ Psych

11-12 ~ House

(We DVR Battlestar Galactica on SCIFI and watch that later - T. Loves it!!)

But basically these are the shows we watch and I love them all so much, ecspecially Monk and Psych. If you haven't seen these shows yet you are missing out! These are just cute, funny shows...things that are missing on alot of other networks!

So if you are looking for something good to watch friday nights - turn to the good old USA for a very entertaining evening of good TV! P.S. - there are some other really good shows on other nights as well! (end plug)

VitaminWater - I am indifferent!

So I was at the gas station this morning, looking for something to drink and I came accross Vitamin Water. So I picked up the tropical citrus w/ b+guarana (whatever the heck that is) b/c it was for energy! I was excited b/c we all know Kelly Clarkson promotes this stuff, so it had to be good - right? I have hope for this b/c it sounds like it would be good!

I have to honostly say I don't know either way if I am a fan or not. I mean the first taste tasted like water down fruit juice, YUCK! The second and third tasted a little better but still watered down. However, the more I drink it the better it tastes - WEIRD! (why did I keep drinking even though it didn't taste great at first...because I am not a quiter) I think this is something I could drink on occasion but I haven't made up my mind 100% yet. Maybe it was just the flavor I tried.

Has anyone else tried this stuff? Do you like it, hate it?

I may give another flavor a try but which one I don't know!

Car tip!

(ok, i know...but this is the best picture I could find)

So I wanted to pass on a friendly tip I use with my car! T. (the great auto man he is) told me about this some time ago and I think it really works!

So here is the tip: T. suggests that maybe once a week or every couple weeks it is important to pull up and release your parking brake a few times in a row while your car is in park or pull up your parking brake in the evening before you go in for the night... (just remember to put it back down in the morning!) Basically, what you are doing is resetting the brakes so that they will work evenly and last longer!

Reason: This is to help avoid rear brake problems. We use our front brakes more than rear (in most cars) and because of that the rear brakes don't get used as much and this can cause problems. The calipers can freeze or lock up because they are not being used and thus all your stopping is on the front brakes and you will have more of a chance of having rear brake problems sooner! Don't want to have to replace your brakes sooner than you need too!!!

For Whom is this for?: Well just about anybody who has rear calipers... For those of us who don't speak automotive fluentley I believe this is most cars! T. said this is also very good for us with automatics b/c normally people with manuals use their parking brakes on a regular basis!

Just wanted to pass on this friendly tip! If I get more tips I will let you know!

If you are in the area...

So the time has come :-(

If you happen to be traveling to BG and want to see all the great things we have to offer *cough cough* well please do not pick this weekend to visit. Today starts a 4 day traffic jam of crazy people, not knowing where to go, fun fest of people coming into our small town.

Today the freshman start moving into the dorms and into town. Which means parents and family members all bringing their kids, grand kids, brothers and sister, second cousins, everyone...up to be a part of this moving in day! Don't get me wrong, one of those silly freshman is my sister and I am SO excited to have her up here....but my family is one of the smart ones! They have already done this once and know what to do and are not going to be causing any problems or irratations unlike many of the other freshman that come into town.

Throughout the week, other college students will begin to trickle into the town - disrupting our pleasant way of life and thinking that THEY now own the town! MY ASS! If I hit a couple freshman/college students who think walking accross 5 lanes of traffic while I have a green light is cool, then so be it. I won't hit them hard...just enough to knock some sense into them! (Disclaimer - I would never intentionally hit most people)

I also have to say that the city of BG also has many roads blocked off leading up to the school and police out directing traffic....why don't we give these students a parade and wipe their asses after they shit all over our town while we are at it! We are giving them everything else they want.....and breathe! Into my happy place - and I am better!

If that wasn't enough to drive me crazy!!! Get this! BG is the city that holds the National Tractor Pulls every year! YAY :-(

So now we have arrogant, drunk and/or timid college students as well as arrogant, drunk and obnoxious tractor pullers coming into our town! No beer for the next week :( The tractor pullers are interesting, at least they pretty much stay at the fair grounds, hotels, wal-mart or anywhere they sell chips/beer or gas. Ok, in our town that is pretty much everywhere, but at least they won't be on MY side of town - I get the college students on my side! And of course, more roads are blocked and more traffic problems!!

So basically, please do not come to BG this weekend - I beg of you! I do not want any more people in our already crazy town!

JonBenet Killer Caught?

Wow, this is crazy. After 10 years the killer of JonBenet Ramsey has admitted to killing the little girl. The "man" was found/arrested in Thialand and claims that her death was an accident. Apparently he is a former school teacher....fucking sick! I hope that this really is the guy so that the dad can rest after 10 years, he has had so much happen in his life. Unfortunatly the mom died a few months ago with cancer and will not get to see this person captured.

This whole thing is so sad, but I am happy if the killer is caught. I am also glad that they continued to look for the killer and didn't stop even after all this time. If this had happened to me I wouldn't want them to EVER stop looking. I hope nothing else happened in Thialand, Thialand is known for high child prostitution.

here is the full story. There is also a video clip of the "man". i use that word VERY VERY loosely.

Thirsty?

Ok, So I was on my way back to work this evening for some unnecessary and unpaid overtime when I decided I would quench my palate with some refreshing rootbeer from Wendy's! I pulled through the drive through and placed an order for a medium rootbeer. I decided medium b/c sometimes all you get is ice and I thought a small would not be enough to quench my thirst. So I pulled around and this lady hands me what appears to be a half gallon of rootbeer...WTF!! Is this a medium I ask in amazement...yes, thats what you ordered! (I wanted to say i ordered a medium, approx 10-12 ounces, NOT a weeks supply of pop!)

What in my day use to be the Biggie Size pop is now a medium, again...(this deserves the full wording) WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!?! What happened to the smaller cups, did we stop making them? Is Sam's Club now the manufacturer for their cups?

This to me was ridiculous, no wonder Obesity is such a problem - we don't know portions anymore! I mean I am not a thin minnie...but portions people portions!!! I just sat and looked in amazement! I wonder what the small looks like...or for that matter what the Great Biggie looks like, they probably wheel out a keg filled with pop!

I miss the day when a samll was a small not an XL!

Question of the Day?

Question: Do you have a secret/or not so secret Celebrity Fascination?

I do and almost EVERYONE who knows me knows mine....It is the lovely Rachael Ray!

I LOVE Rachael Ray! I think she is SO awesome and just a genuine and real person! I have loved me RR for a long time! Excluding her kids books, I now own all her cooking books (thanks again M). Her magazine and TV shows are awesome and so fun and now her new talk show is coming September 18.....YES!!! Terry and I will be watching that on our mini after marriage get-a-way in Amish Country! :-)

I like to see someone in hollywood who is hard working, fun, can laugh at themselves, likes to eat and over all are not all full of themselves! Those are people I like to see have success in the industry!

So I ask again....who is your celebrity fascination and why? we all have one :-)

fascination - the state of being intensely interested

Last Comic Standing: The Good & Bad

So here it is...the bad news first! Chris Porter was voted off Last Comic Standing :-( I REALLY wanted him to win! I like Josh Blue as well and Ty, but consistently Chris (and Josh) have always made me laugh the most....where were all the Chris Fans? I will forever love Costco because of Chris, hehe!

http://www.nbc.com/Last_Comic_Standing/

You can visit the website for clips of all the comics! But to chris, I won't forget you and I hope you make it b/c you are awesome!

My prediction for the next winner...Josh Blue!! :-)

Ok, the good news....on wednesday's 90 minute special the one and only JOHN HEFFRON will be back to perform!!! YAY!!! M. are you SO excited too? I am, I have been keeping my fingers crossed all season for this! If you can get through Jay Mohr and Dat Phan I highly suggest watching our boy John...he rocks!!!

The season is almost over...I hope they continue this show. I reality show that is all about laughing and comedy...that is what I like!

Rock on LCS!!!

God Bless Tums!

I don't know how many times in you have saved my life er...stomach! I thank you Tums for never letting me down, even in the worst of situtations!

What's in a Name?

So I am getting married in 39 days (unnecessary wedding plug again) and I have started to think about the loss of something that has been a part of me since before I was even born….my last name! Now, before I start, I am changing to T.’s last name. It is a good, simple last name and I love him and I am proud to change to his name. However, as we get closer to the big day and as people insist on pointing out the fact that my name will change I have begun to say to myself…self I think I really like our last name! A lot of my friends refer to me by my last name and ever since I was in school I have been referred to by using my last name or some form of my last name, especially when I played basketball and there were already 3 different Jen’s out there – thanks 70’s/80’s for naming everyone Jennifer!

It is defiantly going to be a switch and even writing his last name has no flow, unlike my current name!

Side Note: Yes I have practiced writing T.’s last name. We met exactly 6 years ago and started dating a couple months later which means (b/c I am a girl) I have been practicing writing his name for over 5 ½ years – that’s how we are!!!

And even after all this time and practice, I still can’t get use to writing his name! I also think about all the people who already know me with my current name and now have to refer to me as something else! I still forget that one of my best friends Abbie changed her name, I NEVER call her by her new married name and she has been married for over 2 years!!!

For me, THIS is the hardest thing about getting married! Children, finances, religion…we have almost all that figured out – but changing of thy name, they didn’t go over that in my Catholic Engaged Couples Conference! LOL

So even with all that said I will change my name and be SO happy that day when they pronounce us as Mr. And Mrs. T. H.! And I know there will be tears shed as we “start” our new married life and “leave” my old single life as well as my old name behind! My current last name is associated with my past and I am ready for my future! So it is with a tear in my eye and a smile on my face that I say to my last name "you were a good name and I shall remember you fondly as well as all the memories associated with you"!!

Adios mi nombre pasado!
(Goodbye my last name)

To College!

So I decided to write a blog in honor of my sis (her blog link on the side is K.W.). She hasn’t really had time to blog because she is getting ready to leave for College next week! Oh here come the emotions from me….excited, proud, nervous, a hint of envy! She will be coming to school in the same town I live and even though we are 8 years apart in age – we are SO close! So it will be great to have her here!

I started thinking about College and all the fun classes I took and my 5 different majors! All my Recreation and Tourism classes, guitar class, ballroom dance, photography, athletic training, art, teaching and more...those were the fun ones! I started to realize I kind of missed college! Don’t get me wrong I don’t miss not having any money, reading all the time, English & IPC classes, driving my old car, dorms, DRAMA, living with seven people in a three bedroom apartment (even though THAT was kinda fun) but there are things I miss!

Things I Miss:
* I miss all the different classes you can take
* Learning something new
* Hanging out in the dorms!!
* The freedom you felt when you were on campus and away from parents
* Hanging out on campus with your friends
* Getting up at 11 for class and being done by 3
* Taking naps during the day
* Drama!!! :-)
* Going to the bar till 2am and then to after hour parties till 4am
* Thinking I was cool when I was underage and drinking with my friends
* Thinking I was cool when I was 21 and could drink and making fun of all those “underagers”
* Thinking I was cool when I out drank guys
* Growing up and realizing what was important in life
* The wonderful friends I made ( even the ones I don't talk to anymore)
* Finding my soon to be husband

I could keep going! I loved my college experience, not necessarily because of what I took out of it academically but rather what I got out of it personally! It is funny, during college all I wanted to do was get out of school and after I left all I wanted to do was go back! Going back now I know it would be different, not better not worse…just different. My priorities/mentality have changed. Besides, I can barely stay up till midnight on the weekend and a margarita makes me tipsy!!

Best of luck K! I know you will rock at college, I am SO proud of you!!

Do you miss anything from college, any favorite college memories???

Just Because

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgX-hiQdfFw

HAHAHA, because sometimes we just need to laugh and say "WTF was that????"

This is for you BMF T.....I know how much you like the Hoff ;-)

It's as TWEEZE as 1, 2, 3!

So I was watching T.V. and saw this info commercial and just had to share it! It is for Tweeze (pronounced twee - zee), a combination tweezer/shaver thing! Who knows if this works or not, I just thought the commercial was hilarious and gross! Check it out http://www.buytweeze.com/ . It is harder to see the commercial on the small screen, but if you have seen the commercial on TV....you know what I mean and it is worth the watch!

My favorite part (besides the name of the product) is when this lady says she has a hard time seeing if she got all her embarrassing hairs and they show like 4-5 dark black 1/2 inch long hairs...HOW DO YOU MISS THAT?!?!?!

This product may work, I don't care - I just like watching the commercial :-) So please enjoy!

And remember...It's Easy with Tweeze! ;-)

Question of the Day....

To Ink or Not to Ink…That is the Question!

So for years I have wanted to build up the courage to get a tattoo. I had many ideas that I thought were creative at the time and then two months later I thought…why, what purpose is the tattoo, do I want THAT on me forever? And each time the answers were always they same that I didn’t know why, there was no purpose or meaning and HELZ NO I don’t want that particular design in question on me for the rest of my life!!!

However, I continued my quest to find a tattoo that represented what I was looking for…a way to honor those who have passed and a way to inspire myself when I look at it in the mirror. Then about 6 months ago it came to me! I decided on getting a Phoenix tattooed on me! It was PERFECT!! As explained in a post by one of our fellow friend bloggers, when the phoenix dies it bursts into flames and turns to ash. From that ash a new Phoenix will rise. There are so many levels of symbolism behind this that I was very intrigued! You can take the religious turn about rising from the dead to live again, there is the representation of the ashes – Christ, or you can go into a simpler meaning that we all go through ups and downs in life…but it is about rising and starting a new. I found this to be very inspirational on many levels…so I began my research and am still doing it! I am set on overcoming my EXTREME fear of needles to get a tattoo sometime after I get married. I feel in my life this is the perfect time to get this particular tattoo because it represents where I am in my life on so many levels. And, to overcome my HUGE fear, I hope, it will allow me to overcome other obstacles in life I may be afraid to take! I am hoping that I can follow through, because I really do want this SO bad!!

So, do you have a tattoo or want a tattoo…if so what and why? Do you like them, hate them, could care less? Tell me, to ink or not to ink?

P.S. I am going for the prettier phoenix..like in the pic above :-D

Question of the Day?

Ok, so here it is, talking in public restrooms – yes, no, sometimes?

I have two situations before I answer my own question, both very common where I work:

Situation 1:
At my job I am bound to run into someone I know in our small two stall restroom. Usually we share the courtesy small talk such as: “how are you, I am good for a Wednesday, oh I know…can’t wait for the weekend, well have a good day, you too.” Done, 1 maybe 2 minutes tops and you are done and on your way. Usually the small talk happens when one person is entering and another is leaving so there really isn’t a whole lot of time to talk anyways. But what happens when you are making your way into the toilet or trying to leave and a person keeps talking. To me it is very uncomfortable to be there either while you are trying to take care of business (#1) or they are. It is a personal thing….I mean someone is half naked in this situation and yet the talking continues???? It is just uncomfortable (at least to me) and in my opinion not a great place to hold any extended conversations.

Situation 2:
Ok, working at a college of sorts we have a lot of students and/or employees using the restrooms at one time. Now, these larger restrooms are usually fairly gross and smell nasty – so to me this doesn’t equal “hangout”. Once again, you are bound to run into the courtesy conversation situation, but I want to hit on another situation that occurs in restroom…..just hanging out and talking on your phone! People come in there with their pull behind book bags and are talking on their cell phones while trying to use the offerings of the restroom. Maybe they are applying makeup or washing hands or maybe they are doing their business in the actual stall, either way….it is gross!!! Why do you have to have conversations with your friends on your phone and treat the restroom like it was a cool new hangout. Just wait outside, finish what you are saying/doing AND THEN come in and take care of business. I don’t want my cell phone amongst the germs of a public restroom AND I don’t want my friends to hear what I am doing – as I am sure they don’t want to hear either! You are not that important, so put down the phone.

So to answer my question I say talking in restrooms is sometimes ok. For example, courtesy conversations – ok! Extended conversations or conversations on a phone – HELL NO!!!

So – talking in restrooms: do you agree, disagree, don’t care, have public restroom stories to share?

Have your cake....!

Ok, so I am not a big fan of chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, I guess I am more of a vanilla/chocolate combo girl, but my man LOVES anything chocolate!! He use to love the Bill Knapps Resteraunt cakes more than any other cake out there. Apparently Bill Knapps went out of business a few years ago, but the popularity of their cake was so overwhelming that a bakery bought the rights to the cake name and the recipe and they continue to make and sell their cakes!! We found this out about a month ago when we went to our local Meijer and T. found one. They are $7.99 but if you love chocolate and cake, T. says you will not be disappointed!!!!

Please let me update....

Current temp outside - 96

Heat Index outside - 108

My tolerance for extreme heat - 0

My biscuits are burning!

It is sweltering outside today (as well as yesterday and tomorrow)!

Here is your local weather at 2:11 p.m.:
- The current temp is 96
- The heat index (what it feels like) is 105
- The UV index is 9 - Very High
- We are currently under an excessive heat/weather warning - meaning the heat index is above 104
- Tonight the temp will drop to a not-so comfortable 80

- Did I mention I live in OHIO?!?!?!?!!?

*UGH - summer is my LEAST favorite season!!!!!

P.S. - The map - sorry for the bad pic - doesn't make sense at all (half the U.S. is in red - 90's, the other half in yellow - 70's.....why can't we compromise and all be somewhere in orange?!?!)

Good News and Bad News

Good news first:
I read on popsugar that they will be bring Christian Bale back to play in another Batman Movie. He was BY FAR my favorite and most realistic batman!! I loved how he played the character and the movie was really good!!

Bad News:
Apparently Heith Ledger will be playing the joker in the new movie. Not who I would picture as the joker. I know it is a different "series" of movies, so we will wait and see how this all plays out, but I just can't picture him as the Joker.

Could be Bad or Good News:
It hasn't been determined whether or not Katie Cruise will once again be in the movie. I am hoping by the way they left the last movie she will NOT be in it! Fingers crossed!!

So basically IMDB has it to come out in 2008! Please, PLEASE don't ruin the second movie with bad casting, the first one was SO good!!!

http://popsugar.com/15509

STOP, STOP, STOP

**Before I begin this rant, I am sorry if this pisses anyone off – but please feel free to say what you want as I sure as hell feel free to say what I want**

One of the things that pisses me off more than anything is worthless and stupid technology, well maybe more so are the people who purchase the worthless and stupid technology!

They are inventing a chip that you can put into your phone that contains your credit card number and allows you to pay by phone by simply holding your phone near a cash register. WTF?!?!?!?! Click here for article.

I have a problem with this. It seems like more and more companies are making it easier for us to loose our personal information (credit cards, accounts, ect). We already have a problem with identity theft and now companies want to come up with ways that are easier for our shit to get misused. One example, the stupid pay pass key ring. Money comes from your account (up to $20 per purchase usually) but it is on your key ring. How many people have lost their keys…now you are giving away your car, house AND money! These phones are not much different, maybe worse! So you lose your phone or misplace it or whatever and now people have all your contact information and your credit card ready to use. Now granted, I do not know ALL the details of this little device, but the point is still the same, technology (in my personal opinion) has gone too far! We are consumed by the greed of status and having the best of everything. We are not being logical in the decisions we make.

Maybe I am too old fashioned. I had a hard time giving up my simple cell phone for one with a camera in it. I am afraid that in two years the only “phones” that are going to be available are ones that wash your clothes, pay your bills and look like a mini computer – can we even call these phones anymore? I like technology & new gadgets - things that are useful, but I think it can get WAY out of hand. This idea just doesn't make sense to me, and it doesn't seem to make anything easier - in my opinion. I mean, I already have a debit/credit card that can be used anywhere... it doesn't get much easier than that!

I know I can’t 100% blame the companies who make the stuff because they make it because there is a demand for more! We want more more more, better better better…so I say STOP STOP STOP!! Be thankful for what you have, you don’t always need the best of everything! I know people won’t stop…but at least I said my peace!

Do you have an opinion…agree, disagree, don’t care?

I said what?

So at the Bridal Shower they played this "game" that I had never heard of, having never been to a bridal shower before! They apparently play it without telling the bride they are playing it - to make it more fun! I am sure you have heard of this, but it was cute and a fun way to embarrase the bride infront of her grandparents :-)

So as you are opening the gifts a bridesmaid secretly writes down what you say as you open the gifts. Then after you open all the gifts you read the list out loud under the heading...."This is what you will say to your other on your wedding night". Now I have a dirty mind and as my friends say - I always go there- so I thought this was funny!! Very cute idea! We cracked up and my face was 4 shades of red! I am writing down some of my favorites...

(remember, this is what I said about the gifts)

What I will say on my Wedding night to T.

1. That comes in handy
2. Oh yeah
3. I'm a big fan
4. Oh, that's cute
5. I like that
6. I like the hot stuff
7. Thank you, Thank you
8. Is that possible
9. Oooooh
10. I'm trying
11. I'll be very careful
12. It looks like it is from the 17th century
13. Oh, just what I wanted
14. Am I taking too long
15. You did that on purpose
16. I'm not very smart when it comes to this
17. Ooh, it's a big one too
18. I like those
19. They're different sizes too
20. It's heavy
21. Oh my, how do these work
and my personal fav...
22. There's a lot in here, I can't get it all out!

hahaha - good times, good times!!!

Welcome!

In the tradition taught to me by Kylee, I would like to welcome my sister (Kristen w/an e) to the blogging world! I am sure as she heads off to college she will have many a story to share with us! Her blog page is linked on the side!

Welcome Chica!!!
